1 LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 2-S DIRECTORY Richard Rick Reynolds DISTRICT GOVERNOR 1

2 DEDICATION I dedicate this year's directory and my service as District Governor to FAMILY. First to my first true love my wife Marla. She makes me a better person and a better Lion. To my children who brought joy to my life. To my brothers and sister who are close even though we are miles and years apart. To my parents who I know have been watching over me from above for the last fifty years. To my extended family members of the Cut and Shoot Family Lions Club. We truly are a Family. They too make me a better person and a better Lion. To all of the Lions of District 2-S2 who give unselfishly to others in Lions service. You are the embodiment of our motto "We Serve". "WE ARE FAMILY" THEME "KEEPING OUR FAMILY ON TRACK" My goal as District Governor is to excite and enthuse the Lions of District 2-S2 to grow our clubs through Community Service and to re-dedicate themselves to that service that is in the hearts of all Lions everywhere. Let's have fun together and watch our Family grow! 2

4 I BELIEVE As I approached my year as your District Governor, I wondered many times, "Was I the right person for this job? Would I truly be able to bring our District together as a family, to grow our clubs, to bring more service to our areas and attract new Lions?" Well, it seems that I am in the right place at the right time! Our International President, Wing-Kun Tam, from Hong Kong, seems to have the same philosophies as I have. His theme, "I BELIEVE", is one that we can grasp wholeheartedly. He believes, as do I, that clubs are a FAMILY and interact with each other as such. He says, and I agree, that our philosophy should be "my club, my family". He believes, as do I, that youth and LEOS are the future of our family. He believes, as do I, in giving back. He believes, as do I, in our motto, "WE SERVE". We both believe in our responsibility to Our Earth. The list goes on and on! The time is right and I now know that I am ready and able to serve you as your District Governor in the coming year. President Tam has goals that I am able to grasp as my own goals and that I can embrace with all my heart. My goals are simple and they are do-able! President Tam wants to plant one million trees worldwide. I want to do our part by planting one tree per member in District 2-S2. I want clubs to BELIEVE that by planting trees, they will grow their club. "Plant a Tree Get a Member"! 4

5 Any time we put ourselves out in front of the public through community service, we attract new members. I BELIEVE that we can grow our membership through COMMUNITY SERVICE. My goal is for clubs to implement MORE service projects, thereby attracting more members. I BELIEVE that every Lion in our District can renew their own enthusiastic belief in Lionism and attract more members, thereby growing our FAMILY. I BELIEVE each member in each Lions Club can ask ten people per month to join our family and that they can each get one to join in the coming year! That would double our membership! BELIEVE!!! Is that a realistic goal? Probably not, but nonetheless, it IS my goal! You have to BELIEVE in the impossible. You have to dream the impossible dream. Then the impossible becomes reality! I BELIEVE we can add at least four additional clubs to our district in the coming year. I will think outside of the box and start new clubs in new places and new areas. I foresee some corporate clubs, based in large corporate buildings, motorcycle clubs, even the possibility of following through with IPDG Glen's dream of a Special Olympics club. I BELIEVE in our youth. LEO Clubs should be in every school in every school district in our area. My goal is to implement a district wide program for the growth of our Leo Clubs. Leos should and will work hand in hand with their Lions club sponsors. These are my goals. I will do my best to bring them to reality for the benefit of our District. 5
