3 1 START HERE Visitor parking is available in Binkley Parking Garage at the corner of SMU Boulevard and Airline Road. 2 LAURA LEE BLANTON STUDENT SERVICES BUILDING is a great place to start your tour and enjoy the beautiful view of the eastern entrance to campus. The Blanton Building houses Enrollment Services, including Undergraduate, Transfer and International Admission, Financial Aid and the Bursar s Office. Also in Blanton are the offices for SMU-in- Taos and SMU Abroad. Near the Blanton Building are the R. Gerald Turner Centennial Quadrangle, which includes the Cooper Centennial Fountain, the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering complex and the Crain Family Centennial Promenade. 3 MOODY COLISEUM is east of the Mustang Plaza and Mall, where you will see the Mustangs sculpture. Moody Coliseum is home to Mustang basketball and volleyball. Beyond the coliseum is the Crum Basketball Center practice facility. SMU competes in Conference USA with 17 Division I sports. 4 DEDMAN CENTER for LIFETIME SPORTS offers the latest trends in health and fitness. The center includes climbing walls, basketball, racquetball and indoor soccer courts, recreation pool, dance/aerobic/ cycling rooms, weight room and fitness area, and a café. 5 GERALD J. FORD STADIUM is near the statue of 1948 Heisman Trophy-winner Doak Walker. Before home football games, students, alumni, faculty and the community tailgate nearby on The Boulevard. Ford Stadium also is home to the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center (A-LEC), where students can develop skills for academic success. 6 MEADOWS MUSEUM houses one of the finest and most comprehensive collections of Spanish art outside Spain. Its exterior features Santiago Calatrava s site-specific sculpture, Wave. The museum offers docent tours and lectures and is open Tuesday through Sunday. 7 SOUTH QUAD features several first-year residence halls, including McElvaney, the home of Mac s Place, one of the main dining services on campus. SMU residence halls feature wireless connectivity and a variety of room types, bathroom styles and community areas. 8 PERKINS SCHOOL of THEOLOGY is an internationally recognized seminary of The United Methodist Church. The world-renowned Bridwell Library has a collection of ancient biblical texts and Bibles and offers theological resources for pastors and scholars unrivaled in the southwestern United States. Perkins Chapel hosts weekly worship services and is one of the most popular places in Dallas to get married. 9 MEADOWS SCHOOL of THE ARTS is recognized as one of the premier arts schools in the nation and offers studies in the visual, performing and communication arts. Hamon Arts Library contains more than 130,000 items and provides access to additional online arts resources. Temerlin Advertising Institute boasts SMU s awardwinning student advertising team, Praxis. Three theatres the Bob Hope, the Greer Garson and the Margo Jones are located here. 10 NORTH QUAD has more of the University s residence halls, including Shuttles; Virginia- Snider honors hall; and Mary Hay and Peyton fine arts communities. Memorial Health Center, which is staffed by physicians, nurses, pharmacists and laboratory and X-ray technicians, also is located here. 11 UMPHREY LEE CENTER houses the Belo Journalism Complex with television and radio studios, computer labs and editing suites. SMU-TV broadcasts from the studio and includes The Daily Update, a streaming news show written and produced by students. On the lower level of Umphrey Lee is Real Food on Campus (RFoC), the main dining hall. 12 McFARLIN AUDITORIUM hosts University academic events, touring shows and the Tate Lecture Series, which brings to campus some of the world s most interesting and provocative speakers, such as former presidents, commentators, futurists and artistic legends. The Tate Series annually returns almost $1 million to the University and benefits student scholarships. 13 DEDMAN SCHOOL of LAW ranks No. 1 among all law schools with Fortune 50 CEOs. It ranks No. 2 on Forbes list, behind only Harvard Law School. SMU law graduates passed the state bar at a rate of 94% on their first sitting, compared to 80% statewide. Qualified SMU undergraduates can earn early acceptance to Dedman Law through the Pre-Law Scholars program. The Underwood Law Library is the largest private law library in the Southwest.

Opened in 1915, it symbolizes SMU s commitment to academic excellence. Inside, look up at the beautiful Rotunda and down at the University seal. Because Dallas Hall was built on a hill, SMU was nicknamed The Hilltop. 15 SCIENCE QUAD, east of Dallas Hall, provides classrooms, labs and research facilities. The Pre-medical Studies Center also is located here. Bush in honor of his wife and SMU alumna Laura Bush s contributions to the advancement of libraries and literacy. During the school year, Fondren Library is open daily (including 24 hours a day, five days a week). The Science Information Center, a resource for engineering, is adjacent to Fondren Library. Displays feature profiles of current students and faculty, a 100-year timeline and an SMU historic trivia game you can play with friends. Hughes-Trigg has a food court on the lower level, with Subway, Chick-fil-A, Pizza Hut, and Café 100, a popular campus hangout. The hub for SMU s 200 student clubs and organizations, Hughes-Trigg also houses a post office, ticket office, M Lounge video game center, convenience store, computer store, barber shop, career center and copy center, as well as meeting rooms and key student services. The Hegi Family Career Development Center offers career counseling and assessment and sponsors an active campus job-listing program. 19 COX SCHOOL of BUSINESS is housed in Fincher, Maguire and Crow buildings, as well as Collins Executive Education Center. A Business Library and Einstein Bros. Bagels are located in the basement of Fincher. Cox students have access to professional and academic advisors and the exclusive Cox Career Counseling Center. All student services are accessible in the Maguire building, where undergraduate business classes are taught. The Cox B.B.A. program is ranked No. 30 in the U.S. by Bloomberg Businessweek. Cox is the only business school in the southwest with three M.B.A. programs ranked in the top 20 by leading publications such as Bloomberg Businessweek and The Economist. 20 BOBBY B. LYLE SCHOOL of ENGINEERING prepares graduates for success in technology, industry and public service. Lyle School graduates are leaders and creative thinkers prepared to take on the most profound challenges confronting society and the planet. The percentage of women in engineering at SMU is 50 percent higher than the national average, and Lyle is blazing its way toward achieving its goal of gender parity. The Junkins and Embrey buildings and Caruth Hall are some of the most technologically advanced on any college campus. Embrey and Caruth were awarded LEED Gold-certification. 21 SMU BOOKSTORE is a Barnes and Noble bookstore, located one block south of Doak Walker Plaza at Mockingbird Lane and Airline Road. It sells textbooks and great spirit items and has a café. 22 The GEORGE W. BUSH PRESIDENTIAL CENTER featuring a library, museum and institute, is scheduled to open on this site in The new Residential Commons Complex, set to open in 2014, is under construction nearby.
