It is one of the largest UK providers of education in Hong Kong. Northumbria students and staff have award-winning campus facilities in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, which include the striking City Campus East development, and Sport Central, a GBP30 million facility for indoor sport including swimming, climbing and performance sport with a 3,000 seater arena. The University, which recently opened a satellite campus in London, provides a comprehensive range of programmes and offers provision in the majority of the most popular academic disciplines in the UKHE sector at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, both full-time and part-time. There are students from over 135 countries outside the UK studying at Northumbria University. This includes over 3,000 international students studying at Northumbria and a further 5,700 studying the Northumbria University programmes outside of the UK. PROGRAMME OVERVIEW The knowledge and understanding of international issues and the dynamics of global business are vital for future business leaders. This programme enables students to build on their all-round knowledge of business and equips students with essential knowledge of the international business environment. The BA (Hons) International Business programme aims to: provide a thorough understanding of the international context in which business operates; provide a comprehensive business education; provide an appropriate learning environment by incorporating effective support and guidance; introduce the cultural and institutional features of global business operations to the students; and equip students with an extra edge in employability with knowledge of international management. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE This programme is delivered in full-time mode and is delivered over one year and in two 15-week semesters. All other students will be required to have TOEFL 575 or IELTS of 6.5 or Pearson 62. ASSESSMENT Assessments take the form of case studies and problem-based assignments, group presentations, portfolio and/or reports. All students are required to complete an individual professional project. It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognise any qualification to which this course may lead. 25
