We are looking for highly motivated, culturally aware individual to provide a professional administrative service and excellent customer care whilst operating and managing Admissions processes for International students. This will include responding to enquiries, dealing with applications, issuing offers, processing visa related documents and supporting any follow-up activities. You will be based in the International Admissions Office and work alongside the wider Admissions Division supporting peaks in processing and knowledge sharing as required. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly in partnership with team members by organising your workload and using your initiative. 2 Job Description International Admissions Administrator Directorate of Student and Academic Services (Admissions) Grade: D Role profile: SMD2 Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months Duties of the role Overall purpose of the role The Admissions Division within Student and Academic Services (SAAS) is responsible for the Admissions of all Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught courses. There are currently four separate Faculty Admissions Team within the University (Art, Design and Humanities; Business and Law; Health and Life Science and Technology) and the International Admissions team. The Faculty Admissions teams assess all Home and EU applications. The International Admissions team work in conjunction with the Faculty Admissions teams for all International applications as well as the Leicester International Pathway College (LIPC). They are charged with significantly increasing the number of international students. The highly competitive world of International student recruitment is seeing more aggressive competitive activity from within the UK (both public and private providers) and worldwide, thus an innovative and marketing-led approach to recruitment is necessary. The International Admissions Administrator role is to provide administrative support for admissions across the University as required, ensuring speedy and accurate offer processing and high standards of data quality at all times. You will be expected to be flexible and work across LIPC and International Admissions and across the Admissions Division during peaks and troughs, supporting the application process as deemed appropriate by the Head of Admissions. Main duties and responsibilities 1. Working across both LIPC Admissions and International Admissions the role will be to provide accurate information and advice to students, parents, schools, colleges and international agents on all aspects of the University; in particular providing information about degree programmes, entry criteria and application processes and decisions within the Faculty and at Open Days. 2. To develop and maintain an up to date knowledge base on the equivalence of a wide range of international and European qualifications (including both academic and English language) and their suitability in preparing applicants for their proposed study at the University. Consequently to work with faculty admissions staff and our Pathway provider Oxford International (OI) on assessment of the suitability of the qualifications of individual applicants in relation to the level of study applied for. 3. Recording and processing all applications from international students for undergraduate, postgraduate and pathway programmes, working to agreed service levels.

3 Duties of the role 4. Liaising with the Faculty based Admissions teams to co-ordinate processes for decision-making. To record decisions and process application outcomes effectively, accurately and speedily and within agreed performance targets, undertaking and/or co-ordinating follow-up actions as required. 5. Assisting in ensuring compliance with University admissions entry policies and procedures. 6. To liaise with UK and foreign government departments in relation to provision of entry and study permits and visas for applicants, under the direction of the manager. 7. Processing data onto systems such as CRM, QLS and ADMISS as required and sharing good practice and improving data quality. 8. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Academic and Administrative Staff within the Faculties, the wider Admissions Division, Oxford International, LIPC and across the University regarding all applications and admissions issues. 9. Liaising with the wider Admissions Division, Faculty Marketing teams, International Office, and other central support services to ensure applicants and enquirers receive the best service. 10. Provide an enquiry handling service for applicants, their families and school and college staff, and produce routine and non-routine correspondence to applicants and enquirers. 11. Provide support for recruitment by participation in Open Days and other recruitment / promotional events and possible participation in first year & PG student enrolment, induction and International Welcome Week. 12. Support and implement the conversion strategy. 13. Maintaining core information/data accuracy on marketing and admissions (in agreed formats and systems) to facilitate systematic tracking of all enquiries through the admissions process. 14. Promote the good image of the University amongst prospective students. 15. To assist in the running of training events both internal to the University and to Partner Colleges as required. 16. To support the International Admissions Manager in reviewing and recommending measures for developing and improving processes, tools and structures to maximise the recruitment and admission of excellent students and for optimising performance in dealing with applications both in the office and within the wider Admissions Division.

4 Duties of the role 17. Members of the office may be required to travel occasionally to officiate at recruitment events in the UK and overseas. 18. Treat all DMU staff, students, contractors and visitors with dignity and respect. Provide a service that complies with the Equality Act 2010, eliminating unlawful discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations with particular attention to the protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief (or none), sex and sexual orientation. 19. To undertake corporate Student and Academic services (SAAS) roles as required, examples of this are Assessment Board Attendance, Appeal and Academic Offences Panel Attendance and duties at Graduation Ceremonies. 20. Familiarise yourself and comply with DMU admissions policies and procedures, this shall include data protection as it applies to the post holder s work area and activities. 21.Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.
