Provide students with short-term, 3 to 8 weeks exposure into the academic culture and heritage of the host university and country in which it is located. Summer programs are classified by its focus in (A) Academic Coursework; (C) Cultural Immersion; (I) Language Instruction, or a combination of the above. May take ahead 1-2 courses. Match Lab / DIP with hands-on courses. Credit transfer a maximum of 21 AUs, reflected as Pass/Fail. All courses reflected on the overseas university s transcript will be used for credit transfer, regardless of the grades. International students are not allowed for exchange to home country. Take note of the language proficiency. Check the academic calendar of host university and plan it carefully. Students return late may not be allowed to take courses at NTU in the subsequent semester (plan for IA instead). Keep some GER-PE/UE courses to be taken during exchange. Plenty of placements available (popular vs. non-traditional destinations). Course matching will be done only after successful application, may refer to the following pre-approved course lists for reference: 8

9 GEM Explorer COST ESTIMATES: Asia S$5,000 - S$6,000 Oceania S$10,000 onwards Americas S$12,000 to S$15,000 onwards Europe & Africa S$12,000 to S$15,000 onwards Some financial assistance schemes are available, please refer to web-link: SINGAPORE UNIVERSITIES STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME Exchange Partners NUS & SMU Options Available o Partial Exchange Take a few approved courses in NUS/SMU and the remaining in NTU. o Full Exchange Do one semester of studies of approved courses entirely at NUS or SMU. Online Application to be announced at a later date by the Office of Academic Services. Students will be notified via sometime in March Limited placements and priority will be given to full exchange. 9
