Each participant gets a Certificate of Participation from the host university / institute Faculty tours SAMViT organizes tours for faculty members and college authorities that are designed to widen their perspective of teaching. We empower faculties by making them aware about the global educational trends and giving them an experience and feel of the international educational environment. The tours help the faculty in understanding best teaching practices in different countries. The faculty gets an opportunity to enhance their knowledge by sharing it with their counterparts abroad. Snapshots of Success Stories: A unique tour of Hairdressers was organized to Singapore in April 17. The group comprised of 15 owners of Saloons across India and had participated in the tour to understand the international techniques in hairstyling and hair coloring practiced by experts in Singapore. The participants were conferred with Certificates for attending sessions at Tony & Guy, Kimage School of Hairdressing and One Academy. The students of MIT School of Business (MITSOB) attended a session on Designing & Thinking Logistics at PSB Academy, Singapore in the month of March 17. The students were provided with Certificate of Participation for attending the session. Along with the theoretical knowledge, the students were exposed to industrial visits and a session at Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industries (SICCI). The authorities guided budding entrepreneurs on setting their businesses in Singapore. A consecutive study tour to James Cook University (JCU), Singapore in the month of December 16 was organized for the students of Garware College of Commerce -GCC (BBA Dept). As a result of this tour and after series of the discussions between the authorities of JCU and GCC, both of them have signed Letter of Intent for purpose of student exchange, faculty exchange and Joint Research activities. A study tour was organized for students of Garware College, Pune to Singapore in last week of November The 5 days tour included a seminar at PSB Academy. Certificates were presented to students by the Director of The University of New Castle, Australia. Along with academic activity, the students had two industrial visits to get feel of the business trends. The students enjoyed sight-seeing and visit to Universal Studio during this tour. The Group included 22 students and 4 faculties. A delegation from Solbridge International School of Business, South Korea visited Management institutes in Pune and Mumbai. The objective of the visit was to understand the philosophy of business schools in Indian and evaluate them as partners for joint activities in near future. The visits to various management institutes was organized and coordinated by SAMViT. The visit of the Dean of UCLA, USA Dr. Dhir, to various colleges in Pune was organized in first week of Jan 14. He signed MoU with one of the leading engineering colleges in Pune, Maharashtra for faculty training program at their campus in USA. In July 2014, a visit of high profile delegation from Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS), USA was organised in medical universities in three different cities in India including AFMC, Pune. The objective of this delegation was to initiate student exchange program. Two MoUs were signed with D.Y.Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai. This delegation was brought under the banner of AUSIB. Under the banner of Alliance for US India Business (AUSIB), a multi-state higher education conclave in India was organized in Feb The 20 member high profile team from US consisted of Presidents, Connecting education globally Page 3

4 senior faculty and lawmakers from State of Iowa, USA. The delegation visited Universities in more than 5 cities in India. An activity for Alliance for US India Business (AUSIB), In December 2011, hosted one of the biggest education conclaves with a delegation of 80 high profile US delegates to India in the first week of December 2011 at the Indo-US Education Conclave in Pune. It was attended by over 500 delegates including prominent academicians and personalities from the fields of education, politics and business. Major strategic decisions were taken between the two counterparts during this event.
