Students are placed in classes suited to their levels based on their placement test results. All classes are conducted in Chinese. Mandarin phonetic symbols and Pinyin spelling are used to indicate the pronunciation of characters. Reading, writing, speaking

2 and listening comprehension are given equal emphasis in each class and student performance is evaluated accordingly. Students must register and pay the tuition fees in DOC (abbrev Division of Chinese) office which is in the Language Center Building after arriving in Changhua.

Mandatory Accidental Insurance Fee Around 500~1,500 below 180 days (The exact amounts depend on how many days in Taiwan) Demanded by the Ministry of Education, it is compulsory for foreign students to be enrolled in a mandatory accidental insurance plan. The fee is waived for students who present a proof of coverage under other accidental insurance plans. Health Insurance Fee About 750 per month After 6 months studying in Taiwan The exact amounts depend on the Textbooks and other study materials (estimated) Transportation Fee Around 700/ 4 or 8 weeks per termaround 1,500/ 12 weeks per term 1,500 /per person textbook used in each class. Pick up at Tao-Yuan Airport to DOC on the planned day. Payment Method DOC (abbrev Division of Chinese) accepts tuition payment in cash (NTD only) or by credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB). Students must go to the DOC office (in the Language Center Building, Jin-De Campus) to register and pay the tuition fees after arriving in Changhua. Refund Policy Please go to DOC Office to apply for refunds. Average processing days for refund requests are 7-10 working days. The Refund Policy is based on the Ministry of Education s Guidelines for Colleges with Extension Education Programs. Refunds refer to tuition cost only. Other costs, including application fees and insurance costs, will not be refunded.

5 Refund Percentage of Tuition Applications Submitted 90% no later than the day before the program starts. 50% before 1/3 of the program is completed No refunds after the program is 1/3 completed Students who pay for the next term in advance for the purpose of visa application may request for a full refund if their visa application is rejected. The refund request must be submitted with a proof of visa rejection before the new term starts or within the first week of the new term. Course Information 1. For applicants who require original documentation in order to apply for a visa, we recommend that application materials be sent and received. Original admission letters are mailed via regular airmail and require sufficient time to reach applicants. 2. For applicants who are nationals of 90-day visa exempt entry countries or who have proof of legal residency in Taiwan. Admission letters will be ed. 3. After receiving your application, it will take about 5-weekdays to process your application. An admission letter will be sent to your mailing address after your application is accepted. Please register yourself in the Language Center on the dates listed on the admission letter. 4. Please note that, according to the Taiwan Ministry of Education regulations, students who intend to apply for a Student Visa for Chinese Language Studies should fulfill at least 3 class hours per day and 15 class hours per week.

6 Application Materials Documents which are not issued in English or Chinese must be accompanied by a translation. DOC accepts applications via s or post. Applicants can choose to submit application materials via s (nancy0714@cc.ncue.edu.tw ) or by post (Division of Chinese, Language Center, National Changhua University of Education No.108, Xueshi St., Changhua City, Taiwan 500). Acceptable proof of education includes: (1) High school graduates: a graduation certificate of high school or admission letters of universities. (2) Undergraduates or above: a transcript of university courses, a diploma of bachelor s degree(or above), or a student ID. Health certificate Please turn in a certificate of health examination conducted within the past 6 months. The health examination needs to include an HIV test. Original Copy of Financial Statement (1) Applicants must prove they are able to support their studies and stay in Taiwan. They need to show that they have adequate funds of at least 2,400 USD or the equivalent amount in other currency. This proof may be a dated bank statement or a letter from a bank on its

(2) If using a family member's bank statement, the statement must show the same family name of the applicant and the spelling must be the same as that of the applicant. That family member must submit a letter guaranteeing willingness to support the applicant's stay in Taiwan. (3) A photocopy of confirmed proof of scholarship acceptance or bank loans. Đối tượng theo học các chuyên ngành tiếng Hoa hoặc tiếng Anh tại các trường Đại học, Cao đẳng phải có bảng điểm thành tích học tập ít nhất một năm, thành tích học tập trung bình các môn học mỗi năm đạt từ 6.0 điểm trở lên. Ghi chú. Kể từ tháng 7 năm 2012, sinh viên Việt Nam khi đến Văn phòng chúng tôi xin visa du học tiếng Hoa hoặc visa du học chính quy yêu cầu phải cung cấp giấy chứng nhận năng lực ngoại ngữ cơ bản (Hoa hoặc Anh), Nếu không cung cấp các chứng chỉ nêu trên, sẽ không thụ lý. Đề nghị quý trường phối hợp thông báo rộng rãi đến sinh viên Việt Nam về việc chuẩn bị đầy đủ các chứng chỉ ngoại ngữ trong thời gian sớm nhất.. Trình độ năng lực Ngoại ngữ được nêu trong bảng quy địnhnày chỉ dựa theo tiêu chuẩn tham khảo thấp nhất khi xét visa xin du học tiếng Hoa hoặc visa du học chính quy đối với sinh viên Việt Nam. Các trường đại học khi xét duyệt hồ sơ xin nhập học của sinh viên Việt Nam, có thể dựa theo những yêu cầu học tập riêng của từng trường mà đề ra những tiêu chuẩn năng lực ngoại ngữ cao hơn, đồng thờiyêu cầu xem xét năng lực Ngoại ngữ (Hoa hoặc Anh) của sinh viên như một điều kiện bắt buộc trước khi đồng ý cấp Thư nhập học.

Kỳ thi năng lực hoa ngữ (TOCFL) chia làm 5 cấp, được tổ chức hằng năm vào tháng 3 và tháng 11 tại các thành phố lớn ở Việt Nam, đồng thời tổ chức thi theo nhu cầu riêng của các trường và các công ty, xí nghiệp. Hoan nghênh các sinh viên Việt Nam đến đăng ký dự thi. Mọi thông tin về kỳ thi đều được đăng tải trên trang web của Trung tâm Dữ liệu Giáo dục Đài Loan tại Việt Nam Trung tâm Dữ liệu Giáo dục Đài Loan t ại Việt Nam Văn bản ngày 20/8/2012 Submitting Applications All application materials must be received before the application deadline and cannot be returned once submitted. After applicants receive the admission letter, applicants should register, make payment, and take a placement in person on the registration days indicated on the letter. Notice 1. After you completed the application process and received an admission letter, you must arrive at DOC on the indicated New Student Registration Day to register. 2. New students except Chinese beginners will take a placement test on the day they register. In order to ensure students are placed in the class suitable to their levels and the students have already arrived, DOC require students to complete the registration process in person. Tuition fees cannot be paid by mail or by a delegated person. 3. We recommend students come to Taiwan a couple days before the term begins in order to make accommodation arrangement and adapt to the learning and living surrounding.
