9 Graduation Requirements To graduate from Kings High school students must 1. Earn 23 credits: use the 4 year grid to help 2. Complete their Community Service 3. Meet a State Testing Requirement

11 Community Service Hour Requirements 50 Hours Total* A minimum of 25 hours from a 501 (c) Non-profit Agency not associated with Kings Local School District. (*Total hours prorated for transfer students.)

12 State Testing Requirement Three Pathways to Completion 1. End-of-Course Exams (EOC) English -- 4 points Math -- 4 points Science/Social Studies -- 6 points 2. College Readiness Benchmarks on ACT or SAT ACT (Reading -- 22, English -- 18, Math -- 22) SAT (Writing , Reading , Math ) 3. Industry Credentials and Career Readiness score of 13 on WorkKeys assessment

13 State Testing Requirement EOC Exams in April (Retakes in winter and summer) Score reports sent home in fall, also on transcripts (grades 10, 11) A Free No-Writing ACT will be administered to grade 11 each Spring (in March) Pre-registration is NOT required.

14 Early Release/Late Arrival Senior Privilege Community Service hours MUST BE complete by May 1 of Junior year Counts as 1 period Can still schedule a study hall

Biological Science, Physical Science) Social Studies 3 credits (World Hist, US Hist, Govt.) Fine Art 1 credit (½ credit if also have 1 credit of Foreign Lang.) Health ½ credit PE ½ credit or PE Waiver Technology ½ credit 23 Credits Total Community Service (50 hours + Senior Reflection Project) State Testing Requirement

23 Reasons to take Honors & AP Courses Strong interest in the content area Self-motivated Desire to advance towards content area in college Challenge of academic rigor. Receive College Credit. (AP Tests) Reasons to NOT take Honors & AP Courses All of my friends are in that class. I just want the grade to boost my GPA Ranking. I can t commit to an increased level of homework. I don t like to read and write!!
