2 THE PURPLE KNIGHTS CLUB IS AN ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS OUR ALUMNI, FANS, AND SUPPORTERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DIRECTLY SUPPORT OUR ATHLETIC PROGRAM

3 A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS TO OUR LOYAL UB ALUMNI, FRIENDS, FAMILIES, AND SUPPORTERS: It is truly an honor and privilege for me as an alumnus and a former UB student-athlete to lead and serve our outstanding student-athletes and coaches here at the University of Bridgeport. In the academic year our Purple Knights again enjoyed great success on the field and in the classroom. For the second consecutive season UB Women s Soccer won the ECC Championship and the NCAA East Regional Championship. Our Gymnastics team won their ninth straight ECAC Championship and, for the first time in program history, the Women s Swimming team won the Metropolitan Swimming Conference Championship. In addition to our championship teams, Men s Basketball, Baseball, Men s Cross Country, Men s Swimming, Women s Basketball, Women s Volleyball and Women s Cross Country all participated in postseason play. Our student-athletes also enjoyed a great deal of individual success. They earned 12 All-American honors, six ECC Player of the Year honors, and two Academic All-American honors. Our student-athletes included 15 All- Region Performers, 22 All-Conference selections, and 36 All-ECC Performers. In the classroom, more than 170 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above. While we celebrate the great successes of the past year, it is important to prepare for the upcoming season and those beyond. For that reason, I am excited to announce the launch of the new Purple Knights Club. The Purple Knights Club is an annual giving program that allows our alumni, fans, and supporters the opportunity to directly support our athletic program and/or our individual athletic teams. The goal of the Purple Knights Club is to raise funds to foster the further success of our student-athletes and the overall growth of UB Athletics. Your gifts will inspire our student-athletes to achieve even more in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. You can join the Purple Knights Club for as little as $50, at the Young Alumni level, or contribute as much as $10,000, at the UB Legend level. Special benefits will be offered to members at each level of giving. Please join us as we continue building UB Athletics into a nationally recognized, premier NCAA Division II program, and a leader of athletic programs in the Northeast. Go Purple Knights! 4 WHY JOIN THE PURPLE KNIGHTS CLUB? The University of Bridgeport is committed to strengthening our athletic program to become a premier NCAA Division II program, all while providing our student-athletes with a top-notch academic and athletic experience. Alumni, families, and friends are now being given an opportunity to support UB Athletics through the Purple Knights Club, a new annual giving program. Purple Knights Club members will receive benefits based on their participation, at levels ranging from a $50 gift (Young Alumni) to $10,000 or more (UB Legend). Club members may donate directly to the General Athletic Fund, which will help fund continued upgrades to UB s athletic facilities as well as additional programs that can offer enhanced educational or athletic experiences to our student- athletes. Participants can also donate directly to one of our 13 varsity athletics teams, furnishing added resources for team travel, equipment, recruiting, and other needs. Purple Knights Club members will have a direct impact on the overall success of UB Athletics and of our student- athletes. Together, we can inspire greatness!
