1 DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (SHIFT - II) LOYOLA COLLEGE, CHENNAI COMMERCE FORUM ( ):- Commerce Forum was inaugurated on the 4 th of August, 2010Rev. Dr. Christy SJ, LIBA Director & by Mr. Madhavan, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association Coach. The main aim of the Forum is to carry out all Extra Curricular activities of B. Com., B. B. A., and B. Com (Corp). It is headed by Prof. J. Arul Suresh, the President and is accompanied by Prof. S. Prasanna Kumar, the Vice President. It consists of a good team of young and dynamic students to carry out the Forum s Goals. The Core Elected Members are:- Emmanuel Prasad Secretary for B. Com; Bommisetty Santhosh Ganesh Deepak Secretary for B. B. A.; Karthik Ram Secretary for B. Com (Corporate Secretaryship). Manigandan Joint Secretary for B. Com; Sujeeth Joint Secretary for B. B. A.; Praveen Raj Joint Secretary for B. Com (Corporate Secretaryship). The logo of Commerce Forum was designed by Sanket Golechha of second year B. B. A. and the caption was given by Arjun Narasimhamurthy of third year B. B. A. B.com Stream Cultural Events Held so far:- The Commerce Cultural team participated in various events in BANCO 2010 held by the Department of Bank Management of Ethiraj college, Chennai. The team from was placed second in overall and secured prizes in the following events Potpourri 1 st place Ad zap place Budget 3 rd place The Loyola Dream Team secured place in CAMPUS JIVE conducted by THE HINDU NXG. They also bagged the 1 st place in the event organised by Chengalpattu Medical College. The Dream Team had the following students from the commerce department: Steve Jude (09 CO 316) Pradeep (09 CO 248) Donel Lama (09 CO 219) The Loyola Fashion Team secured the FIRST PLACE in the event organised by Chengalpattu Medical College. The Fashion Team had the following members from the commerce department: Mohamed Fahd (09 CO 573) Shahzad (09 CO 651) The B.Com team won the following events in OVATIONS 10:- Pot pouri (Abel,Nakul & Ashwanth) 1 st place

Our students were placed 1 st in Creative writing and 1 st in Block and tackle at Cognito 10 held in Madras Christian College. Jeeteesh (B.com), Prashanth, Vignesh, Vidyuth. The students of B.Com represented our college at Aqua 10 held in Stella Maris College and brought laurels to the college by winning 1 st in both Mime and Ad Zap. Joban Mathew, Manikandan, Nakul Nagaraj, Abel Peter, Jerry, Siddique Fouzan, Barani, Ahad. The students of B.Com represented our college at Shristi 2010 held in Ethiraj College and were placed 1 st in Jam, 1 st in Tamil debate and 3 rd in Pot pourri. Anuj Vignesh, Abel, Ramachandran, Fouzan, Vivek. Our students also won place in Ad Zap and Variety entertainment in a cultural fest held at SDNB Vaishnav College. Brahadeeshwar, Ram, Abel Peter, Nakul Nagesh, Srinivasan. Insignia organized by St. Xaviers, Kolkata was a national event and our final year students were placed 1 st in Business Treasure Hunt and in HR. We edged them by a single point. In the next game we were up against Loyola Whites Chennai, after a valiant effort by our department players we l ended up on the losing side. (Books from Seniors Scheme):- Students from Commerce Stream have taken an initiative and started this scheme to help the poor and economically background students by collecting books for the library and donated 100 books to the department ==============================================================
