Water will be available, but athletes are Description: This camp is for all Mountain Vista football athletes who will be playing tackle football in the Fall of CHSAA regulations allow for a two-week contact camp in the summer and this camp leads into Gorilla Mountain Camp the following week. Players will be issued pads and helmets, and will use the week to prepare for the contact during Gorilla Mountain. 1

Gorilla Mountain Football Camp Dates: July Time: 6:00am 9:00pm Grades: Varsity and JV football athletes Mountain Vista High School Camp Staff: Ric Cash, Head Football Coach and Mountain Vista Football Staff Cost: TBA Equipment: Athletic apparel and football cleats. A more detailed packing list is available upon registration. Description: This camp is for all Mountain Vista football athletes who desire to play varsity or junior varsity football. The purpose of the camp is to set the foundation for the coming season and begin the process of developing our team chemistry for the 2011 campaign. This is our Team Camp and only those who are serious about their participation at Mountain Vista should attend. 6. Mountain Vista Football Special Teams/Conditioning Camp The purpose of the camp is to build on the foundation laid at Gorilla Mountain Camp, begin to develop our Special Teams units and to sharpen skills for the upcoming season. 7. Freshman Football Camp Dates: August 8-12 Time: 3:30 6:30pm Grades: 9 th Grade in Fall 2011 Mountain Vista football field Instructor: Jeff Cislo, Head Freshman Football Coach and the Mountain Vista Freshman Football Staff Cost: No Charge Equipment: Athletic apparel and football cleats. Water will be available, but athletes are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. Description: This camp is for all Mountain Vista football athletes who will be participating as a Freshman during the 2011 season. The purpose of the camp is to set the foundation for the coming season, teach skills and drills used by the high school program, to introduce freshman athletes to their coaches and begin to work at becoming a team. The camp will have skill sessions, small game play and scrimmaging. Skills covered: ball control, dribbling, dodges, passing, hitting, push passes, slap shots, drives, individual defensive skills, containment, jabs, block tackles, game strategy, advanced offensive and defensive skills Contact: Brian Nutter 14. Cheerleading Camp Dates: June Time: 9:00am 2:00pm Parent Performance June 24, 3:00pm Grades: K-8 th Grade Mountain Vista High School Commons Cost: $75 prior to June 18, after $100 Instructor: Varsity cheerleading team and coaching staff Equipment: T-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes Bring : Bring a sack lunch both days. (Water and snacks will be provided.) Description: This camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of cheerleading. Girls Softball Offensive and Defensive Camp Dates: May 24, 25 Time: 5:00pm 7:00pm Ages: 9 14 years Mountain Vista softball field Cost: $50.00 Instructor: MVHS softball coaches and players Equipment: Glove and bat, athletic shoes, protective gear, jacket, sunscreen and WATER Description: This camp allows the young athlete to learn from high school coaches and players about the basics of the game. Softball Pitching/Catching Clinic There will be no softball clinic in Softball Summer Open Practices Dates: June 8,15,22 July 13,27 Aug 3 Time: 8:30am 10:30am Grades: Grades 9-12, Fall 2011 MVHS Softball Field Cost: No charge Instructor: Bret Grammerstorf, Head Softball Coach Mountain Vista HS Equipment: Glove, bat, water, athletic shoes and protective gear Description: This camp is for all of the potential team members to practice and get to know one another before the fall semester begins. Boys Basketball Camp Date: June 27 June 30 Time: 9:00 12:00am 2 nd 5 th Grades 1:00 4:00pm 6 th - 8 th Grades MVHS Main Gym Cost: $80.00 (includes camp T-shirt) Instructor: Bob Wood, Head Basketball Coach, JV Head Coach Brian Wood, Coach Ed Collins and Coach Stewart Brewer Equipment: Shorts, T-shirt, socks, basketball shoes, water bottle NO baseball caps or jewelry Description: This camp will teach the fundamentals of basketball. Offensive fundamentals such as shooting, offensive rebounding, passing, ball handling and driving will be taught. Defensive fundamentals of blocking out, positioning, stances, slide steps and rebounding will also be emphasized. The camp will include: Shooting instruction Individualized ball-handling Defense and rebounding drills Individual skills competitions Team game competition Awards and prizes Contact: Go to and click on Forms/Records to register 18. Boys Basketball Offensive Skills Camp Date: July Time: 9:00am 12:00pm Ages: Entering 9-12 grades MVHS Main Gym Cost: $40.00 Instructors: Bob Wood, Head Basketball Coach Bob has led high school and college teams to over 400 victories in his 28 year coaching career. He has coached 2 state championship teams and has coached 12 conference championship teams. Bob has won over 80 percent of the high school games he has coached. Brian Wood is the JV Coach at MVHS. He is the all-time score leader in the state of Colorado and played collegiately at the U of Akron and CSU- Pueblo. He was 2 time player of the year in his classification and 3 time first team all-state. Ed Collins, Assistant Boyʼs Varsity Coach at MVHS, and Stewart Brewer, Head Sophomore Coach. Equipment: Shorts, T-shirt, socks, basketball shoes, water bottle NO baseball caps or jewelry Description: This camp is designed to develop offensive skills that will allow campers to become successful high school players. It will concentrate on footwork, ball handling skills, jump shooting skills and a variety of offensive moves. Players will learn how to screen and read screens. Post up skills and post entry skills will also be taught. Competitive 1 on 1, 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 will be used to develop skills. Full court games will also be utilized. Mountain Vista High School Boys Fundamentals Camp Date: June Time: 7:00 10:00pm Ages: Entering 9th 12 th grade Main Gym Cost: $40.00 Instructors: Bob Wood, Head Coach; Brian Wood, Head JV Coach; Ed Collins, Assistant Varsity Coach and Stewart Brewer, Sophomore Coach Equipment: Shorts, T-shirt, socks, basketball shoes, water bottle NO baseball caps or jewelry Description: This camp is designed to develop basketball skills and techniques that will allow campers to become successful high school players. The fundamentals of defense and individual defensive skills will be taught. A variety of offensive moves including live ball moves, post moves, screening and reading screens will be taught. The camp will help players with all skills and techniques needed to become outstanding high school players. Awards will be given for competition winners. MVHS Summer Kick-off Camp Tennis Date: May 30 June 3 Time: 8:00 10:00am Beginner 10:00am 12:00pm Intermediate (If there are not enough numbers, there will be only one session.) Ages: Boys and girls, 8 12 grades, Fall 2011 MVHS Tennis Courts Cost: $75.00 ( make checks payable to MVHS Tennis) Instructor: Tennis coaches from Mountain Vista HS Equipment: racket, tennis shoes, water 6 Description: The purpose of this camp is to provide overall skill development, conditioning, footwork and preparation for match play. Mountain Vista Boys Tennis Team Camp Dates: August 1-5, :00 5:00pm Ages: Grades 9-12, Fall 2011 Boys who intend to play tennis in the upcoming fall high school season Cost: MVHS Tennis Courts $75.00, if attending only one week, the cost is $50. (make checks payable to MVHS Boys Tennis) Instructor: Head Coach Jim Flanigan, Coach Willsea and Coach Haskell Equipment: All tennis equipment, water Description: This camp is intended to prepare the players for the upcoming high school season. Official high school practice starts the next week. There will be no challenge matches played at the camp because of CHSAA regulations. Contact: Coach Jim Flanigan 25. Baseball Camp Dates: June 6-7 Time: 4:00-6:00pm Check-in: Players should check in about 30 minutes prior to the start of the session Ages: 8-18 years MVHS Baseball Field Cost: $100 Please make checks out to: Complete Game Instructor: Ron Quintana, Head Baseball Coach, MVHS baseball coaching staff, present and past MVHS players 7 Equipment: Baseball or other athletic clothing, baseball glove, baseball hat and cleats Description: The purpose of this camp is to teach the fundamentals of the game of baseball. All campers will be instructed in all aspects of hitting, fielding, throwing and pitching. This will include swing mechanics, bunting and the mental approach to hitting. Each camper will have the opportunity to learn valuable information at each of their primary and secondary positions. Fielding and throwing mechanics will be provided according to position. Catchers will be taught stance, receiving, framing, blocking and throwing mechanics. Pitchers will be taught the basic mechanics of pitching, as well as grips and various mental aspects of pitching. Our goal as staff is to provide knowledge, enthusiasm and excitement to all campers. The camp includes individualized instruction, shooting, ball handling, passing, defensive fundamentals, half/full court games and multiple contests. This MVHS basketball camp provides a positive and fun learning environment with a successful attitude emphasized.

A 9-week schedule is available on the cross country website. Cost: $ Instructor: Jonathan Dalby, Head Cross Country/Track Coach and the MVHS Cross Country Staff Equipment: A pair of running shoes with quality insoles, athletic clothes and a water bottle Description: This camp is intended to prepare for the upcoming high school and middle school cross country seasons. Distance running is a year round sport at Mountain Vista. The MVHS

9 XC and Track coaching staff want to provide kids the opportunity to train year round as a group in a safe and enjoyable environment. Focus of the summer program will be on building an aerobic base, speed, strength and injury prevention.
