1 The Education Fair held in Poland in the city of Poznań is a place of a wide presentation of educational offer of state, private schools and didactic centers of various education levels from Poland and abroad. It is the biggest event of that sort in Poland. In 2014, 300 exhibitors participated in it, and 37 thousand people became familiar with their offer. 2 The Education Fair exposition was located in three pavilions interconnected with a Lime Alley, where a special stage had been arranged. The passage was a sort of a park avenue. Artistic performances of child and youth groups took place on the stage, scenes and shows were acted in order to make the viewers realize the variety of opportunities education gives in different places. All that served to promote schools, get people interested in the program, and to draw the most people possible to the fair stands. Also, in the pavilions, almost omni-knowledgeable in terms of their schools students and teachers awaited the visitors. And it is the talks and direct conversations which were incredibly precious for the visitors interested in future education. During the talks at the stands you can automatically feel the atmosphere present at a university. You can easily compare the conditions of learning in different schools, and confront them with the information collected before. The fact that we are so enthusiastically encouraged to studying motivates me to learn intensively, said Kuba, this year s last grader from Poznań.

3 The exhibition was presented in two halls. One of them featured stands of schools at different levels from primary to secondary schools, and the other was dedicated to secondary school graduates. They were dominated by universities, both from Poland and abroad: the UK (a large exhibition presenting offer of 12 universities), Denmark, Finland and Germany among others.

4 Past Exhibition 2014; The 18th edition of the Education Fair will be remembered by 32,000 visitors as the largest event of its kind in Poland. Trade fair of wise decisions What interesting profiles are offered by secondary schools? What languages one should learn? What type of education guarantees finding a job in the profession? What are the chances for international scholarships? Students from all over Poland arrived to get answers to these and other questions. They had the opportunity to check out the educational offer of nearly 250 schools, universities and educational institutions. They included public and private primary schools, lower and upper secondary schools, colleges, linguistic schools and universities. A special offer was prepared for high school graduates by public and private universities from Poznan and other Polish regions, including: Gdynia Maritime University, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Warsaw School of Social Psychology in Warsaw and Wroclaw University of Technology.

5 Education without borders The Poznan fair became the arena for the presentation of opportunities to study abroad. Information was provided by representatives of foreign universities from the UK, Germany, Denmark and Finland. A special offer was prepared by the British Council, which included interactive workshops introducing the participants to education and life in the UK. A presentation of the legendary English IELTS test a kind of ticket recognised by over 8 thousand institutions around the world which each year is taken by more than 2 million candidates, enjoyed popularity among visitors. English language learners could learn about job and life prospects during the workshop "Teens Welcome to the UK!" organised in the form of a funny and interactive introduction to British culture, a discussion about connotations associated with the United Kingdom and the elements of British culture and reality from Big Ben and red postboxes, to Shakespeare and the London Eye Ferris wheel. Paul Fletcher, a world expert in the field of stadiums, talked about unique career paths and new occupations related to football in the lecture entitled "Professional opportunities of the 21st century what the future will bring us." 6 Modern teaching The fair was inaugurated by the Program Conference "We learn throughout our lives" organised by the Teacher Training Centre in Poznan, addressed to the representatives of the bodies in charge of educational institutions, managing schools and institutions, and teachers. The aim of the event was to promote the idea of modernity in thinking and pragmatism in action, forming a reflective attitude towards the dilemmas of modern education and drawing attention to supporting the development of young people through inclusive education. Modern education draws from different fields: film, creative activity, discoveries of neuroscience, movement, use of interactive learning and teaching aids. As part of the Education Fair visitors could participate in educational film shows. Films by European artists, among other things, from the Netherlands and Sweden, were presented. Wise films inspired the audience to talks about the topics discussed by the authors, taught dialogue and tolerance. The fair program included 50 accompanying events. Thematic zones As every year, the fair featured the Eco Forum exhibition, a zone co-created by state and local institutions and NGOs working in the field of environmental protection. This year it was devoted to the issues of waste management. The Department of Art Education at the University of Arts in Poznan conducted a series of workshops for teachers, youth and children. The Education Fair was also accompanied by the School Equipment Exhibition which presented, among other things, acoustic systems allowing to combat noise in the school and to create a suitable learning environment. There was also the opportunity to get acquainted with experimental kits that in a pleasant way introduce learners to the world of physics, wildlife, or robotics.
