2 Provision of assistance and support to the students who use the Computer Center of University of Crete in Rethymno in the frame of program "Ecumenical Dimension in Education" Working as an Mphil candidate in the Laboratory for Science Teaching, Department of Primary Education, as administrator (LAN and web server) and teaching staff for the educational use of computers Technical support of the lab for the production of educational materials of the University of Crete (Rethymno) in the frame of the project "PROMETHEUS" EPEAEK Administrative personnel in the Laboratory for Science Teaching of the University of Crete with main duties the support of the teaching and research activities of the Lab Collaboration with the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics of the Foundation for Research and Technology. PARTICIPATION IN RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Researcher in the project "Crivet: The impact of Labour Market Oriented Training on the Long Term Unemployed". European Project with international participation financed from the European Union. In this project there has been a preliminary study about the unemployment in Greece as well as for the possibilities that the Centres of Vocational Training (CVT) for the training of unemployed people. In its main phase the study was focused on five cases of CVT, were research was conducted concerning the quality of training that those centers offer and its usefulness for job acquisition. For this aim a number of interviews were taken from the managers of the centers, teaching staff and graduates of the programs. Also questionnaires were filled from all graduates of these programs Designing and development of web pages titled: "Introduction in the Natural Sciences" in the project "Promitheas" (url These web pages were organized in a series of modules concerning the light, heat, sound, mater and energy as well as an introduction to Chemistry. These educational materials concern students, and teachers of the last grades of Primary School, as well as the three grades of High School and they include experiments, questions and informations Researcher in the project "REPRESENTATION". European project with the participation of the: Department des Nouvelles Technologies, Institut National de Recherche Pedagogique (INRP), University of Huddersfield (United Kingdom), Universitat oberta de Catalunia (Spain), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), University of Mons (Belgium), IUFM de Creteil (France), ORFEUS (Denmark) and ΜΑC (Ireland) (url During the first phase aim of the project was the exploration of the pupils' representations about the New Technologies. In the project particapts are 30 primary schools from Greece, Danmark, Spain, G. Britain, France and Nederlands. In the first phase (Sept June 1999), a pilot exploration was conducted of the 6th grade pupils' representations (one from each
3 country). The data include interviews with the pupils, tape recorded conversations in the classrooms, as well as texts and drawings from the pupils. In the same time a software has been developed which is in the phase of the pro-evaluation and which will allow the study of pupils' representations through a special computer environment about the creation of concept maps. The project ends in September of Collaborator in the projects: - Reform of Undergraduate Studies of the Primary Education Department of the University of Crete which is funded by the European Commission. - Safety Goes Europe which is funded by the European Commission Collaborator in the Leonardo da Vinci project OIKOS which is funded by the European Commission Collaborator in the project Mobilim which is funded by the European Commission. TEACHING EXPERIENCE 1999 Practice lessons in the Teachers' Training programs about the educational use of computers Adult education for Primary Education teachers about the use of computers in the frame of the project "The Island of the Phaiakes", which is a pilot phase for the introduction of the computers in Primary Education in Greece Teaching assistant in the seminar "Tools and applications for the development of teaching materials" of the project for teacher training of the Department of Primary Education, University of Crete Participation as teaching staff in the project "Adult education for teachers on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education" (url The project is in the frame of the 3d European Framework for the Development and the Corporate project "Information Communities" from the Ministry of National Education and Religion Teaching assistant in the seminar "Application of the Internet in the Teaching and Learning process" Teacher training lessons in the framework of the program Teacher Training in the Educational ICT use. The program is organized by the Ministry of Education with the Community Support Framework Tutor in the e-learning seminar "Introduction in teaching and learning through the Internet" (May 5th - June 4th 2006). The seminar was focused on the following topics: a) Learning Management Systems, b) Asynchronous communication and the role of the moderator c) Metadata, learning objects and SCORM. This professional trainning seminar was organized by the Educational Research and Evaluation Group of the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics,
