9 CLOTHES LIST FOR BOARDERS In addition to the school uniform, boarders will also require the following items. Parents may use their discretion on quantities for the various items depending on number of boarding nights per week. Pants and Socks Vests (optional) Dressing gown & pyjamas / nightdress Casual clothes (must be named and machine washable) Casual shoes/trainers (additional to trainers for sport) Bedroom slippers Shoe cleaning materials Suitable bedtime reading book Wash bag Face flannels Toothpaste, toothbrush and fluoride mouthwash Shower gel and shampoo Hairbrush/comb Overnight bag marked with name on outside (for part-time boarders) Please ensure boarders have spare uniform items available. Any medicine, special instructions or equipment required Linen bag (pillowcase size to hang) Two duvet covers (optional) Three towels, preferably dark coloured Blanket for winter terms Supply of name tapes Bedding is optional. The school can supply everything but some children feel more at home with their own duvet cover, which can be left at school during term time. ALL items brought to school should be named and in good condition; a charge will be made for any repairs that have to be done by School. Please note that space is limited for storage of casual wear.
10 CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT LIST FOR TEMPORARY BOARDERS Pyjamas / nightdress Dressing gown & slippers Towel Uniform (complete spare set) Pants and socks (one set for each night boarding) Casual clothes Sweatshirt / jumper Casual shoes / trainers (additional to any used for sport) Wash bag to include: face flannel, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, comb/brush Reading book Any medicine, special instructions or equipment required Bedding is optional. The school can supply everything but some children feel more at home with their own duvet cover, which can be left at school during term time. Please ensure all items are named, including each sock / pants / casual clothes. ADDITIONAL PERSONAL ITEMS LIST FOR ALL BOARDERS A few small items for entertainment and leisure time may be bought in, but must be clearly named, e.g. ipad, Nintendo DS. These items are stored in bedside lockers or on personal shelves. Mobile phones may also be brought in for use in the evening. They will be stored by Matron in a lockable drawer and cannot be used during the day. Please note: The school cannot accept responsibility for any personal items, and recommends that items of great monetary value should not be brought back to school. [All electrical items must be PAT tested before they can be used on site]
11 General uniform information and rules of appearance: - Pupils should be well presented at all times and show pride in their appearance. - They should always come to school in the appropriate uniform, with shoes clean and polished. - Hair should be neat, natural in colour and of an unobtrusive cut. - Boys hair should be no longer than collar length; with a sensible cut and no hair gel or hair dye. - Girls with longer hair should tie it back neatly with a scrunchie, or plain hair bobbles or hairband in either black or navy. - No jewellery should be worn. However, if girls have pierced ears they may wear small silver or gold stud earrings. - Overalls for painting and craft work will be provided by the school up to and including Year 5. - For pupils in Year 3 and above watches are recommended; these should be clearly named on the back. - When pupils go out to play, they should remember to change their shoes, and, dependent on weather and conditions, to put on their tracksuit. When the bell goes 10 minutes before the end of break time they should give themselves time to clean up, go to the toilet, and go back into the classroom looking tidy. - All pupils should have a supply of waterproof sunscreen cream in school during the Summer Term. - Articles marked * in the uniform lists will require a loop for hanging. - All clothing, shoes and sun cream, together with any other items brought in to school MUST be clearly named / labelled. - Each child must have a water bottle named to refill throughout the week and to take home at weekends.
