In December 2014, this award was deactivated by QQI. FETAC has been dissolved and NFQ awards previously given under the FETAC system are now awarded by QQI. New Courses Available We continue to offer a full suite of Train The Trainer courses. These include the most up-to-date QQI awards in Training & Development. You can learn about these courses on the following pages. Special Purpose Award A QQI Level 6 Special Purpose Award in Training & Development is now available. This award shows potential clients and employers that you are serious about your career in professional training. Progression for Train The Trainer Award Holders Those holding a Train The Trainer FETAC Level 6 award (course code: E30179) are already halfway to achieving the Special Purpose Award. Get the Facts 3
4 FETAC & QQI: What are the changes? Who are QQI? QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) are responsible for the development and review of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). QQI was established to combine the standalone agencies of FETAC, HETAC and NQAI. This means that awards previously offered as FETAC Level 6 have been revised, redesigned and are now QQI Level 6 awards. is registered to offer programmes leading to QQI awards under the NFQ. All of our Train The Trainer Courses lead to QQI Level 6 awards. FETAC & QQI: What are the changes 4

It is essential for anyone who wants to gain knowledge and insight into professional training delivery skills and evaluation techniques. 7 Special Purpose Award QQI Special Purpose Award in Training & Development This new QQI Special Purpose Award in Training & Development is designed for anyone who wants to train professionally, or trains others as part of an existing role. To achieve the Special Purpose Award, you must successfully complete 2 components - Training Needs Identification & Design and Training Delivery & Evaluation. Training Needs Identification & Design 6N Training Delivery & Evaluation 6N3326 Course Code: 6S3372 Award: Level 6, Minor Award Credits Available: 30 = Special Purpose Award in Training & Development 6S3327 Special Purpose Award 7
8 Your Existing Train The Trainer Certification Have you already completed Train The Trainer? You may be eligible for an exemption from the Training Delivery & Evaluation component. If you are eligible for an exemption, you only need to complete Training Needs Identification & Design component successfully to achieve the new Special Purpose Award. Please note that there is a time limit to this exemption. Call us on to find out your exemption expiry date. 9 How are these courses delivered? Opportunity for Practical Learning Mary Larkin Trainer. With plenty of practical, interactive learning on each component, our courses offer ample opportunity to develop your confidence and skill as a trainer. Focused, Intensive Format Our course format of 5 consecutive days per component ensures that participants remain focused, with a higher capacity to absorb the learning. Practicing Professional Trainers Our courses are delivered and closely supervised by professional trainers who are actively working as private and corporate trainers. How are these courses delivered? 9
10 Frequently Asked Questions Do I need to complete both components? To gain the Special Purpose Award, you need to complete both components and their assessments successfully. However, if you are just interested in completing one component, each can be taken as a standalone course. Any other questions? Freephone us on I want to gain the Special Purpose Award. Do I need to attend both components within a specific time frame? No; in fact, we recommend leaving a few months between completing each component as there are 8 weeks of self-directed learning and assessment work required after each course. I have already completed Train The Trainer (E30179). What does this new award mean for me? Train The Trainer has now been deactivated by QQI. However, if you have achieved the Train The Trainer certificate, your award is still valid. If you would like to achieve the Special Purpose Award, you may be eligible for an exemption from completing the Training Delivery & Evaluation component.
