1 Realize and Realize Reader 18.2 Release Notes October 5, 2018 The Realize and Realize Reader Release Notes provide descriptions of the major feature enhancements, resolved issues, and known issues for the release. Please review the Important Information note about students using the Turn In button. Feature Enhancements Data analysis enhancements The Score data view has replaced the Mastery data view, allowing teachers to now obtain more meaningful insights from their students' formative assessment data. Class results by assignment reports are now available for all assessment types, irrespective of whether the assessment was configured to count towards mastery. The Score data view provides quick access to: Standard Analysis A table displays each student's score and the number of correctly-answered questions for each standard. This tab displays only if there
2 are standards aligned to the selected test. Question Analysis A bar chart indicates the ratio of the correct, incorrect, or partially correct answers for each question. A sortable table below the chart lists each question and score information. Teachers can expand questions to view the answer details for each student. For assessments that are aligned to standards, teachers can see which standards each question assessed and can filter the report by a standard. Student Analysis A sortable table lists students and scores for each question. Expand each student to view the question and answer details. In the question details, teachers can view the standards aligned to a question for assessments
3 that are aligned to standards. Microsoft OneDrive Integration Microsoft OneDrive integration allows teachers to add OneDrive files to custom program content, discussions, and assignments. Students can also attach OneDrive content to assignments and discussions. Rubrics scoring Teachers can now use rubric criteria to score students' performance for assignments with content that contains rubrics. Students can also view rubric criteria when working on an assignment and view their rubric scores on completed assignments to better understand how the assignment was graded.
4 As of October 5th, the new Rubrics feature is not yet used by any live Realize programs. Until a program is created using the feature, you will not see the functionality in Realize. Program source path in assignments, search, and reporting When viewing student assignments, reports, and program search results, teachers can now see the full program path for an assignment to better determine the source program for an assignment. Click a link in the path to go to that location in the program hierarchy. Expanded Beginning Reader (BR) Lexile levels Beginning Reader (BR) Lexile levels have been expanded to BR300. Teachers can now expand Leveled reader searches by filtering the content results to include the additional levels. Desmos tools update Desmos tools for math have been updated to provide students with the latest versions of the Desmos Graphing Calculator, Scientific Calculator, and Geometry
5 tools. Comment on in-progress student assignments Teachers can now comment on student's assignments for any assignment using the Assignments by class or Assignments by student details view. Students can comment on their own Not started, In progress, or Completed work and respond to the teacher's comments as well. FGHJ lettered answer choices and numbered paragraphs in TestNav TestNav assessments can now display FGHJ lettered answer choices and numbered paragraphs, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the format used in STAAR tests. Important Information Clicking the Turn In button for multi-activity assignments When a student is working in a multi-activity assignment, it is important that they complete every activity tab in the assignment before clicking the Turn In button. If the student clicks Turn In and an activity is not complete, any additional work the student does in that activity will not be visible to the teacher. As a reminder, the following message appears when a student clicks the Turn In button.
6 Known Issues Intermittently unable to add highlight or annotation using ios 12 device Occasionally, a student using an ios 12 device with the Safari or Firefox browser cannot select text to add a highlight or annotation to a Realize Reader Selection (RRS) assignment.
