International Federation of Purchasing & Supply Management (IFPSM), an umbrella body of Global Supply Chain Institutes, UK, which has 42 countries under its Education and Training program in Supply Chain management, has awarded its prestigious Global Standards Program Accreditation to Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) course, Diploma in Supply Chain Management. Global Standards Board of IFPSM has verified the Course content, the outcome of the course and its use in the Organizational effectiveness. IIMM has submitted its credentials in a book form along all the relevant material to support its claim for accreditation. The Part A submission comprises of the Institute s working methodology and its association with Industry at large. Part B, specifically detailed the course in its entirety. It highlighted the importance of such a course,expectation from Industry circle, its usefulness in Operational Effectiveness etc., The Board of Global Standards, IFPSM cleared the Part A& B based on wide range of discussions with the co-ordinator of the program Mr.T.A.B. Barathi, Chairman Chennai Branch.

2 The important part of Onsite visit and interaction with the key people, was conducted on 11 th /12 th August Leading Assessors of Educational programs Prof. Louis Brennan, University of Birmingham and Dr. Deitre Crowe, Dublin University visited and interacted with all the Educational advisory council members and faculty members. The faculty members for this program are mostly drawn from working professional in various Industry verticals,who bring the contemporary knowledge to the students. Completely satisfied with the methodology adopted and meticulous attention given by IIMM to every aspect of the program, the Team has recommended for International accreditation of Diploma in Supply Chain Management course of IIMM. The accreditation formalities were completed by the Global standards Board at UK and the Accreditation was awarded in September We are very proud that, IIMM is the first Institute to get Accreditation for such program Globally from IFPSM. The Course: The One Year Diploma in Supply Chain management (DSCM), a two semester program, is specifically designed to cater to the needs and meet the highly competitive challenges of Industry. Students would be imparted with Operating knowledge of Supply chain practices, thereby they can be inducted directly in to the working environment. Also, there are professionals, who are in field of Supply Management/ Operational Management, do prefer this course to sharpen their skills in Supply Chain management.
