15 Changes in Testing Conditions Allowable for Any Student Who May Need Them School based teams may determine that any studentmay benefit from one or more of the following test administration conditions Small group setting Frequent breaks Time of day Separate or alternate location Specified area or seating Adaptive and specialized equipment or furniture Please note: IEP, 504 and EL teams may still document these needs in a student s IEP, 504 or EL plan based on the individual needs of students. 15

16 Technology Devices and Bandwidth Needed PARCC has designed the assessments to work with older technologies that schools have in place, as well as the newer technologies they are purchasing now. A school does NOT need a device for every student. PARCC offers a very low bandwidth option for test delivery mode. Technology purchases should consider instructional needs, not only assessment. PARCC will offer paper-based assessments for schools that need them. 16

17 Technology: Kinds of Devices Desktop, Laptop, Netbook, and Thin Client/VDI Computers (Windows, Mac, Chromebook) Support for Linux and selected Android devices will be added by Fall Tablets (ipad, Windows8) Screen size must be 9.5 inches (10 inch class) or larger. External keyboards (wired or Bluetooth) are required for tablets.
