1 Whole School Uniform Rules At Lewes Old Grammar School we believe our pupils should wear a uniform to encourage a feeling of belonging to a community and, hopefully, a sense of pride to be part of that community. It also ensures that all pupils are treated equally since there is no distinction between them as far as appearance is concerned. It is important that these guidelines are adhered to. Any pupil temporarily not wearing the correct uniform should bring a letter explaining the reason and signed by their parent or guardian. Failure to comply with the uniform rules will result in the following sanctions: First offence and for minor deviations, pupils will be reported to the Head of Year and where appropriate will be asked to remove the offending items. Further offences will result in pupils being asked to report to the Headmaster. Further offences for Year 10 and 11 may result in pupils being asked to return into uniform worn by Year 7-9. This may be purchased from the second hand uniform shop. Continued deviation from the school dress code may result in pupils being sent home. Pupils should look smart at all times. Every item of personal clothing should be named. Schoolblazer offer a name-taping service Where it states (optional) this means that it is not compulsory to purchase. However, if one of these garments are required it must be purchased from Schoolblazer. * These items must be purchased from Schoolblazer.
