1 Threshold Calendar Academic Year Please keep this calendar handy it contains a complete listing not only of vacations and events affecting students on campus, but days on which the Threshold office is closed as well. We have made every effort to give students the necessary time to travel in a relaxed manner on the days preceding vacations and holidays. Please pay close attention to the dates and times students need to remain on campus, and do not make travel arrangements that would necessitate your daughter or son missing any classes on these days. Tuesday, 9/4/18: Opening Day Sunday, 1/20/19, Ends Opening Day: Activities for students and families; residence halls open. Residence Halls reopen at noon. Wednesday, 9/5: Orientation Begins/ Classes Begin During this period, special orientation sessions will help new students to manage comfortably in their new environment and prepare for their first field placement experience. Second and Bridge year students begin classes. Friday Sunday, 10/12-10/14 Family And Friends Weekend Begins with reception on Friday evening, various events through Sunday afternoon. Details to be announced in a later mailing. All second-year / Bridge students and families are encouraged to attend a workshop to begin to formulate post-graduation plans. Details to be announced in a later mailing. Saturday, 10/13 Time TBA. Tuesday, 11/20, 2:00 P.M. Sunday, 11/25: Thanksgiving Vacation No classes 11/20. All students must check out by 2 pm. Residence halls re-open at noon on Sunday, 11/25. Wednesday, 12/19/17, 12:00 P.M. Sunday, 1/20/19: Winter Vacation Classes end at noon. All students must check out by 12:00 noon. Residence halls re-open at noon on Sunday, 1/20/19. Friday, 3/8 2:00 P.M. Sunday, 3/17: Spring Break On Friday, 3/8 students must be in classes until 2:00 p.m. Students at work that day can arrange to leave at 2:00 p.m. Students must check out of their residence halls between 2:00 6:00 p.m. Residence halls re-open Sunday, 3/17 at noon. Friday, 5/3, 2:30 5:00 P.M.: Threshold Graduation Last day of spring semester. All students are expected to be at Threshold until after graduation and reception, which concludes by 5:00 p.m. Students may check out of the residence halls between 5:00 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday, 5/04/19. Sunday, 6/2- Friday 6/7 Transition Year Seminar One-week preparatory Seminar for all new Transition Year students. Date(s) subject to change. Times TBD. Details to be announced in a later mailing. Friday 6/7 12:30-3:30 P.M. Parent/Student Workshop. All new Transition Year students and families need to attend this workshop to begin the apartment search process for September occupancy. Details to be announced in a later mailing.
