2 Pellissippi State s student ambassadors are always ready with smiling faces to welcome the next class to New Student Orientation. These ambassadors help many of the College s 0,244 students start off on the right track. December January February New Year s Day Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

3 A rare snow in East Tennessee finds friends coming together at Pellissippi State s Hardin Valley Campus. January February March Groundhog Day Valentine s Day Washington s Birthday

4 The classroom gets hot and sparks fly when students light up their welding torches. One of Pellissippi State s newest Associate of Applied Science degree programs, Welding Technology trains students to be ready for the competitive workforce. February 207 March April Daylight Saving Time Begins St. Patrick s Day First Day of Spring

5 Students stroll through a campus in bloom as the coming of spring signals the end of another semester. Pellissippi State graduated more than 2,400 students for the academic year. March 207 April May Good Friday Easter Sunday Earth Day 30

6 Peter is setting his sights on a career in petroleum engineering. When finished with school, he dreams of returning to his native country of Haiti and working toward providing the island nation with sustainable energy solutions. April 207 May June Mother s Day Ramadan Begins Memorial Day

7 Jess and Jessica prepare hand-made, gourmet pizzas for class. The two friends are enrolled in Pellissippi State s Culinary Arts Institute, where they learn practical applications of cooking theories and managerial principles. 8 Pellissippi State Geology students collect water samples from stalactites at Cherokee Caverns. Doing their coursework at this unique site was made possible by a National Speleological Society grant. June July August Independence Day

9 Students are often called upon to juggle their school, home, family and work lives. At the annual Festival of Cultures, Neiman shows he can handle this and much more. July 207 August September

11 Gulsah, a Pellissippi State student from Turkey, found her passion for helping others through the College s Service-Learning program. She is now on her way to becoming a doctor and fulfilling her dream of helping people around the world. September 207 October November Halloween

12 Latoya practices her nursing skills on state-of-the-art equipment in the new Strawberry Plains Campus nursing lab. Pellissippi State offers nursing classes at three of its campuses: Blount County, Magnolia Avenue and Strawberry Plains.
