1 Deutsche Sprachschule Long Island German Language School Long Island Welcome to our School! August The Deutsche Sprachschule Long Island was founded and is organized by parents. The tuition is $32 per student per month for children and $40 for adults, during the tenmonth school year, for a total of $320 for September through June for children and $400 for adults. Special rates apply for early enrollments, full-year payments, and family enrollments. (For details see the attached tuition schedule.) The tuition covers the expenses for insurance, classroom materials, and teachers. Textbooks are separate and usually last for two years. We depend on the willingness of all families to help with teaching, substitute teaching, classroom assistance, organization of the school, parties, and the like. And we encourage you to volunteer according to your interests or as your time budget permits. Beginning in 2011, we are collecting an annual membership fee of $40 per household enrolled in our program, to cover the costs for extracurricular activities during the school year. However, teachers and Board members are exempt from those dues. School Involvement For Each Household Our school is member organized, and we encourage each household to become involved in some manner. 8 DEUTSCHE SPRACHSCHULE LONG ISLAND Tuition Payment Schedule 2014 SAVE $$ with Early Enrollment, Family Discounts & Advance Payments! To guarantee a smooth operation of the school, we would like to share with you the following tuition information. The regular tuition is $32 per child per month and $40 per adult per month. The school year runs from September through June (ten months). The total tuition is $320 for children and $400 for adults. There are special rates for early enrollment (by August 25, ); advance full-year payment; and family enrollment 20% discount for the second child or adult in the same family/household, 30% for the third student; additional students are free (see below). Tuition is due at the beginning of each quarter (please mark your calendar). The due dates are September 28, December 14, and March 15. A late fee of $10 applies for each overdue payment. If you choose quarterly installments, the first payment includes the tuition for June of the following year. The June payment is nonrefundable, in lieu of a registration fee. The annual membership fee is $40 per household enrolled in our program and is on top of tuition. Teachers and Board members are exempt from this fee.
