Look through your exercise book and see which topics were your weakest and which were you best. Start with the worst! Make some case study cads. Write information on one side and the answers on the other.

Component One is Global Geographical Issues, Component Two is UK Geographical Issues. Every topic has a glossary that students fill in as they study each unit. These glossaries can be found in the students exercise books. Unit 1 - Wider World Study this will be the paper examined in the PPE Section A - USA Opportunity and Inequality Section B - Conflict and Tension Unit 2 - British paper Section A - Britain: Health and the People c Section B - Elizabethan England The PPE will Unit 1 ONLY as not enough of Unit 2 will be ed for this to be part of the examination. This is a 1hr 45min paper and represents 50% of their overall GCSE. Use a variety of methods. Keep to minute slots. Read text book/exercise book and create detailed mind maps on large paper (A3). Attach to Bedroom wall/ceiling etc so you keep seeing them. Rewrite your notes. Make extra notes. Record and play back keywords/ important information so you hear as well as see the material. BBC Bitesize/Learning Zone YouTube clips Show My Homework - all content has been placed on one drive These are offered from now: Tuesday and Wednesday After School Sessions 3pm-4pm in H6 Wednesday 2nd Break Sessions. RS Dept. has a list of A level students offering tutoring to students on request. ART Once the PPE paper has been issued, start work on the preparation. Use the colour coded sheet as an audit to see what needs doing, when it will be set and how it relates to the assessment objectives This is a themed paper and s the current project. By completing each task on the PPE paper, you will be ing all elements of development/research, experimentation, and recording. The timed piece will be the final piece for your coursework There is one paper and this s the coursework which is worth 60% of the final mark Use art-based vocabulary to boost marks. This can be accessed on the Shared Area and is called A Glossary of terms. Use this when you analyse and describe your actions. The How to Analyse and How to write about other artists are at the back of the sketchbook Information such as exemplar materials, how to present and past students work on the Shared Area All can be found on the Shared Area under Art KS4 Resources Visit the following websites: GCSE Bitesize Art and Design Monday and Wednesday after school DRAMA Practice writing examples to past question papers. Always use our department's writing framework = (What, when, why, how, impact) as this works for every question that requires description and/or analysis. Re-read 'DNA' (the set text) numerous times, and ensure the character sheets are done in as much detail as possible. Read and learn the technical glossary so that all key terms are memorised. All are in the drama SharePoint - look over them all. Practice understanding what the questions want you to do. Practice writing plans for answers.

12 DNA' is Section A and will require the students to answer about one small section of the play, selected in the exam paper by the Exam Board.There will be a combination of rehearsal, performance and technical questions about the section and the relevant characters.therefore, knowing 'DNA' inside out, is paramount. Come up with creative ideas to access the top band marks.section B is a theatre review of a professional piece of performance. There will be two questions offered to choose just one to answer.this will be either acting or technical. Use to answer and be very precise about the technical language used. In the PPE, students are only ing Section A - 7 questions, each building in marks each time. This is about 'DNA' (the set text) only. See glossaries provided in the SharePoint. BBC Bitesize MUSIC Listen to the set works regularly and gain familiarity with them. Condense the notes into mind maps and bullet points. Use the wheel diagrams created in class to help with this. Listen also to music related to the set works and practice describing the musical features and elements relating to unfamiliar music. 8 set works, plus related listening, in four Areas of Study: Instrumental Music , Vocal Music, Music for Stage and Screen, Fusions One 1 hr 45 minute paper, which consists of 6 listening questions on the set works, two further listening questions, one on an unfamiliar piece of music and one dictation question, and a final essay question based on one set work and one unfamiliar piece. These always see a significant rise in marks and can help pupils secure a higher grade. PHOTOGRAPHY Produce at least two mock ups one week in advance of the PPE and discuss your ideas with the teacher. Use the department website to check what should be submitted for the PPE. Students should prepare all their materials, photographic prints and framing presentation needs before the exam date and bring them into the exam. Photography students are required to produce a final piece for their coursework that shows 10 hours worth of work. The Photography PPE will be 5 hours long during which time students will work on their final piece for their coursework. The remaining 5 hours will be completed in class time and for homework. Final submission deadline will be the 27th November. There is one exam which is 5 hours long and is a practical making exam where students produce their final piece for their coursework. Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and demonstrates understanding of the visual language. Present - To give a response to an idea, theme or starting point that shows a personal, meaningful and organised fulfilment of intentions. Realise - To achieve, attain and/or accomplish your intentions. Select - To make an informed choice of content and techniques for the final piece based on research carried out by you. Show - To indicate, explain, present and display your own thoughts and findings.
