3 Call us: +44 (0) JOB DESCRIPTION Post: Responsible to: Principal Regional Managing Director - Middle East CORE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE International Schools Partnership is seeking to appoint a Principal to lead Nibras International School from January 2019 or sooner. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of successful senior educational leadership, with US curriculum experience, school reviews and assessments, and ideally schools with an international intake with a preference in the Middle East. They will be a strategic leader and a committed team player who demonstrates a collegiate and collaborative approach to working with others. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all of the school s stakeholders. The Principal will take overall responsibility for the leadership, organisation and management of Nibras International School to ensure delivery of: ISP s vision, purpose and principles; A strategic vision and inspiring leadership across the school; A plan for the growth of pupil numbers including the expansion of international students; The achievement of the agreed development plan for the next 3 5 years; Excellent learning environment clearly showing a commitment to effective learning opportunities and a learning environment which meets the needs of students, staff and the expectations of parents. Ensure amazing learning Ensure that the school focuses appropriately on academic, personal, social, emotional, physical and international learning. Ensure that the school has evidence that learning is happening in classrooms on a day-to-day basis. Ensure that the school has data about both entry level and current learning performance. Ensure that the evidence is analysed so that the school can report on both improvement and added value. Ensure that all stakeholders in the school regularly discuss evidence about learning and how to improve it at an individual, class, year-group and school level. Ensure that the school sets challenging but achievable learning targets for individual students, classes, yeargroups and other cohorts so that we are seeking addedvalue for our students rather than relying on their innate performance levels. Run the school in an organised and efficient way Ensure that all structures and systems (learning, teaching, HR, finance, admin, marketing and admissions etc.) follow Group policies and local laws and requirements. Ensure that information about all of our systems and structures, and particularly learning, budgets and admissions) are kept to and that up-to-date information about revenues, underspends and overspends and the current financial health of the school is always available. Ensure that the school operates within its agreed budget at all times. Ensure that all structures and systems are as simple as possible. Ensure that every member of staff, teaching and nonteaching, is aware of their responsibilities as well as the tasks they have to perform. Ensure that the senior leadership team of the school is fully representative of all of the people who share (delegated) responsibility for the achievement of this job description. Ensure that you demonstrate appropriate levels of organisation in everything you do. Increase the number of students in the school Ensure that the targets agreed for school growth are challenging. Ensure that the school has a pipeline of interested parents that is likely, on past experience, to generate the agreed number of new enrolments. Ensure that all communications in the recruitment process are positive. Ensure that prospective parents and students are addressed with their specific concerns in mind. Ensure that school tours are designed to show off not only our amazing learning and the factors that affect learning but also how we will specifically respond to each student s needs. PERSON SPECIFICATION Bachelor s degree and Qualified Teacher Status Master s degree in Education (desirable but not essential) Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Clear understanding of US style schools and standards Understanding and experience of the UAE Framework for Inspection Proven track record of school improvement Minimum 5 years successful and relevant experience in a position of educational leadership Minimum 5 years teaching experience as an outstanding teacher Evidence of relevant Continuous Professional Development Collaborative leadership style, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible and adaptable to change, growth and development. Ambitious, hard-working, motivated and a strong role model. Principal experience in US curriculum schools within the UAE.
