18 Example Contributing to popular or upcoming social networking sites? A comparative study on users motives Do contributors of upcoming SNS share the same motives with contributors to existing popular SNS? This study will seek to identify these motives with the aim to address the question of 'how can we bootstrap a new SNS'? Users of Facebook and Google+ will be asked to reminisce their more recent post. They will be asked to narrate in free-text their motives for these contributions as well as respond to a set of questionnaires (e.g. basic human needs, see Hassenzahl, 2010).
