1 Mr David Marrs Chair of Governors Co-opted Governor I am a retired former Local Authority Chief Executive who was born in the village, attended Collierley School as a child and I am now the Chair of Governors.I have a son, a daughter and am a proud Grandfather. I have been involved within the Community for over ten years and I am passionate about the environment and the history of the village. I have a very strong belief that the future of our village is in the hands of the children we teach now and therefore we need to ensure those children get the best education possible. Mrs Jean Crookes Vice Chair of Governors Co-opted Governor I am Vice Chair of Governors at Collierley Primary School and have lived in the village since I am a retired accountant with vast experience of working in and with the public sector at a senior level. I seek to use my skills to support the school in achieving the very best outcomes for our pupils alongside an appreciation of the beauty of this locality.

2 Mrs Joanne Carr Local Authority Governor I have been a local authority governor in primary and junior settings since 1983 serving here in Dipton from I currently chair a sub committee. Having worked in further and higher education l have always maintained an interest in early years - the foundation on which future lives are built. Collierley deserves its' reputation as a "good" school and as your Local Authority governor I will do all l can to support the school staff in their excellent work. Mrs Tracey Carr Co-opted Governor Having lived in the village since 1971 and worked in education and social care for 34 years, mostly in a financial setting, I am committed to ensuring that our children at Collierley receive the best education possible, so they can achieve their full potential. My sons were the 5th generation of our family to attend Collierley Primary School. I have been a school Governor at Collierley since 2001, and currently serve on the Finance and Staffing Committee as well as the Teaching Learning and Assessment Committee.

3 Mrs Jackie Martin Staff Governor I have worked at Collierley Primary school for 15 years as and am a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, primarily supporting year 6 and also Key Stage 2. I have been a staff governor for 7 years and both of my children attended the school. I am a co-ordinator for Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural (SMSC) and believe that all children should have high self-esteem and clearly know their roles and responsibilities in school. Mrs Helen Humphrey I am originally from Dipton and attended Collierley Primary School myself many years ago. After studying Bio-archaeology at Newcastle University, I completed my Post Graduate teaching qualification and became a teacher of Maths, teaching adults in various family centres throughout County Durham. My son and daughter attend Collierley School and have benefited from an excellent standard of formal education as well as a high standard of social and emotional development. I have always been a strong supporter of the school and hope to continue to do so through my work as a governor.

4 Mr Darran Oliver I am a former trainer specialising in Safeguarding, safety and welfare within both social and healthcare settings. I have my twins currently in Collierley Primary School and am an active parent within the school, having attended school trips and assisted when required on numerous activities. I am a parent governor and participate on many of the different committees of the governing board. I am keen to ensure the school progresses continually and strive to provide the best possible teaching, facilities and are fully accountable for its decisions for the benefit of the students. Having lived in Dipton for the past 13 years, I want to see the area improve and I believe strongly that having a strong school leadership team is vital to this. Mrs Clare Gleghorn I have lived in Dipton all my life and attended Collierley school, my daughter now also attends. I ve always had an interest in the school and feel it is very important that as a small community we should have a say in our child s education. I am at the school daily and feel like I am a friendly and approachable person for any parent/carer to be able to talk to me, I have good relationships/friendships with everyone in the village I consider myself to be honest, reliable and trustworthy.

5 Mr Andrew Curry Co-opted Governor I have lived within the village for many years and have been involved with various organisations including the Scouts. My wife and I ran a local pub restaurant for 3 years. I have a good understanding of the Primary Education system having been a teacher for the past 19 years. I have gained a great deal of experience working with children with complex needs and offer guidance and support to schools that are experiencing difficulties managing the behaviour of some children. I am a regional and national trainer for Team Teach. I also specialise in maths and liaise with the county s maths adviser developing resources and strategies for teaching maths across a range of abilities. My roles have included developing teams of staff and evaluating their performance as well as managing budgets. In order for children to learn there needs to be a calm and engaging learning environment with staff who are confident in their abilities to manage any situation that arises. I feel that my experience may help support staff to achieve this by guidance and mentoring within the school. Mrs Kristy Martin I am a mother to two boys, who currently attend Collierley Primary. We live in Dipton and both my husband and I are former pupils of Collierley Primary. The education for our children is one of the most important aspects for us as parents; our focus is to ensure that our children have the best start to their lives. Being a provides a rewarding challenge and opportunity for me to make a positive contribution to Collierley Primary. My main motivation for becoming a parent governor was my drive to ensure the best for the children, as well as their families and the community. Being a Governor takes spirit and determination and a firm belief that every person at every level can make a valued contribution I currently work in local education as a teaching assistant and feel I have a wealth of skills and knowledge about our local community and education to bring to the governing body.
