2 OBITUARY Last Name: WADEKAMPER First Name: HENRY Middle Name or Initial: JOHN News Paper: FARIBAULT DAILY NEWS FARIBAULT, Date: MARCH 30, 1945 Final rites for Henry Wadekamper, 48, of Wells township, who passed away Sunday, March 25, at 3:45 p.m. at the University hospital after a lingering illness, were held Wednesday, March 28, at 1:30 from the Boldt Funeral Home, and at 2:00 oclock from the First English Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A. L. Rustad, pastor, officiating. During the service, Mrs. Carlson sang two numbers, "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling," and "Rock of Ages." Interment was made in Union cemetery, Forest township. Pallbearers were Hans Christensen, Northfield, Tom Walstad, and George Prinzing of Lonsdale, Leonard and Bernard Dalby and Alfred Barfkneck of Faribault. Faribault Post 43, American Legion, took part in the service, with C. L. McCarthy as commander, T-4 Charles Fleckenstein, T-5 William Jindra, both of the U. S. Army, as color guards, Pfc. Alvin Hermal and Corp. Humbert Blythe, U. S. Army, color bearers, and S 1-c Charles Walker, U. S. Navy, color escort, Richard Dooley, Alfred Mentz, Peter Finnegan, Hugo Velzke, Marven Morgan and Edgar Mentz, were members of the firing squad, and L. C. Nichols was bugler. Mrs. Wadekamper, wife of the deceased, was presented with the United States flag. BORN IN 1897 Henry Wadekamper was born February 24, 1897, in Erin township, the son of Mrs. Louis Wadekamper, and the late Julius Wadekamper. He resided on a farm in Forest, Bridgewater and Wells townships, and was also a veteran of World War I. On November 26, 1924, in Faribault, he was married to Elsie Beyer and since his marriage has been engaged in farming. Besides his wife, Mr. Wadekamper is survived by his mother, Mrs. Louise Wadekamper, two daughters, Bernice, 18, and Dorothy, 17, and two sons, Alvin 15, and Arnold 9, all at home. Three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Law (Dora) of Lonsdale, Mrs. Raymond Nadeau (Evelyn) of St. Paul, and Mrs. Gregory Gillern (Varion) of Dundas, and three brothers, John of Lonsdale, Rudolph of Faribault, and William of Lonsdale, also survive. Attending the funeral from away were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Ricketts of Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Rude, Mrs. Regina Wegner of Webster, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Spartz of Northfield, Orin Spartz and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dougherty of Dundas, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Christensen and family of Northfield, Mrs. Evelyn Nadeau of St. Paul, John Dougherty of Dundas, and many other relatives and friends.
