3 ACCOMMODATION We offer several types of accommodation, including hotels, student residences and apartments, but we strongly recommend home-stay, especially for the first part of your visit. Most families are located within 35 minutes of the school and many are accessible on foot. 7 STAGE TWO option B The professional choice 2B INBP: The National Institute of Baking and Pâtisserie Results well above the national average The professional choice for baking in France The INBP was founded in 1974 by the National Confederation of French Baking. It is a professional training organisation for industry professionals but its influence goes far beyond training, reaching all facets of the baking and pâtissserie industry. The INBP runs training programmes throughout the year for those already involved in the baking industry, from bakers and millers to teachers and retailers, as well as for those beginning their careers. The trainers at the INBP are fully-qualified and have wide-ranging professional experience in restaurants, boulangeries and pâtisseries or other related businesses. Students are the first to benefit from the regular job offers sent to the INBP by many French and international companies. This also allows the institute to follow market trends and make any necessary changes to courses so that its students are aware of and trained in the latest technological advances and tastes in food. INBP offers a comprehensive post-course service for students. You can contact them for individual career advice and receive job offers.the graduates association AS INBP (INBP Alumni Association) will help you to stay in touch both professionally and personally. Programmes INBP delivers a five-month course leading to a French national qualification: either the CAP (Certificate of Professional Aptitude) or the BEP (Diploma of Professional Studies). The institute also offers a documentary service to professionals and its library is well equipped with many thousands of books, manual and journals/periodicals. Five of the present staff have been named in the French annual National Professional Awards as Top Professional in their fields. Why choose the INBP? Because it offers hands-on professional courses which are based on the importance of basic practical skills! Since 1974, the INBP has earned a reputation as a major player in the world of bread baking, pâtisserie and gâteaux. That is why 8,000 students choose to study there every year. The INBP staff put the student first and are ready to listen and to help you. All teaching staff are actively involved in the industry. They are involved in developing new techniques and understand the changing market-place. They are able to adapt their recipes to changing consumer tastes and all know the difficulties of the profession. The pâtisserie course has sessions on cakes and gâteaux, working in sugar and in chocolate, pastries, meringues and creams, biscuits, confectionery, ices and tarts.
