2 Participate Global Business the world's largest co-operative business fair Presentation ICA will organise a global fair for the co-operative movement: ICA Expo World Cooperatives Exhibition. ICA Expo World Co-operatives Exhibition will be a landmark in our efforts to promote co-operative business as well as to create a greater visibility for co-operatives. The fair will provide the participants with the strengthening of the co-operative image and will bring about business opportunities and commercial benefits. Aimed at gathering the world's most renowned co-operatives in a single space, it will be the movement's main trade fair, capable of producing encouragement to exports and imports throughout the sector, reaching a highly qualified public interested in their products and services. A unique business opportunity for all co-operatives worldwide Concept A professional fair intended for promoting co-operative products and services, focusing on the co-operative difference and commercial vocation of each country for export, by the interco-operation and presentation of the products and co-operative concept for the whole international consumer market.

ICA Expo will be divided into 5 major sectors: the World Pavilion, which will feature the direct exhibition of the co-operatives movement and 4 continental pavilions, for the purpose of allowing the members to promote businesses with the main co-operatives of each country. Why to exhibit? Trade fairs are powerful business and marketing tools with unique characteristics. Fair successes worldwide reflect on their importance for the economy of several countries. 6 Professional Global Business structure for holding the major international fairs Feira Internacional de Lisboa FIL's facilities are located at Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, Portugal. FIL is also characterised by its excellent location at 7 minutes from the airport and at 3 minutes from the Oriente Station, with access by car, subway, bus, and taxi. It consists of a global area of 100,000 m², with a complete logistic infrastructure; 60,000 m² of the exhibition park covered area belongs to the 4 pavilions measuring approximately 10,368 m² each. FIL relies on an underground parking lot, with capacity for 830 parking places and, above 10,000 more, around the exhibition park. Lisbon Lisbon is well known for the high quality and variety of hotels. It relies on a full logistic and operational infrastructure to receive visitors from all countries by means of a fantastic network of airports, railways, highways and public transportation systems. Lisbon is a cosmopolitan city with a vocation to host major international events. It is a safe and welcoming city, with a perfect climate for the visitors and exhibitors of ICA EXPO 2008.

7 Business Forum Based on business integrated with social responsibility, the following will take place concurrently with the Fair: Business rounds: Meetings scheduled in order to promote businesses, providing great opportunities to create demands and offers of products and services provided by the co-operative movement. Workshops: A space for the exhibitors to talk about their products and services, differentiators and institutional characteristics to their customers and prospects, enhancing their time and focusing on businesses. Entrepreneurial panels: Gatherings targeting the integration between companies and co-operatives, particularly for the exchange of information, technology and know-how, by setting up sectorial groups. Bio-energy Congress: Central theme: Co-operative enterprise in the bio-energy and ethanol market. The congress will be focused on technologies, investments, markets, and commercial policies.

8 The fair is an extraordinary tool for developing a relationship network, valuing the co-operative movement, and promoting commercial interchange. It effectively presents co-operation as a modern business system with a progress culture open to the world. Such initiative deserves support from the International Co-operative Alliance and its members. ICA Expo 2008 will be a great incentive for us to work together and promote the co-operative movement. Therefore, we encourage cooperatives and their organisations to participate in this trade fair, as we believe it will draw attention to the quality of our products and services and will show the level of organisation of the co-operative movement and its capacity to partner with other enterprises.
