Tribal is one of the most successful and fastest growing companies supporting the public sector in the UK today. The following sections contain synopses of Tribal s principal areas of business activity. Education is covered most comprehensively, not only because of the relevance to the current requirement, but because it is the dominant sector for Tribal, contributing nearly half our revenues. Education and Children s Services Tribal is one of the UK's most experienced and innovative educational professional services provider, delivering a wide range of services in the school, local authority, further education and learning and skills sectors. Tribal is a leading provider of professional development to secondary schools and organisations in the further education sector, delivering training to teachers, lecturers, managers and support staff. We have a 4 year track record in delivering our Managers into Leaders programme. Our facilitators research and develop several hundred training courses and conferences a year. Training is delivered across the UK and through blended learning approaches. Tribal manages the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics (NCETM), a major DCSF initiative to support mathematicsspecific continuing professional development, for all teachers of mathematics across all phases. Our Early Years consultants and trainers have developed curricula and e-learning resources for all four pathways, customising learning packages to suit individual candidate needs, providing additional work experience, tutor and mentor support. Tribal leads on the national Family Literacy, Language and Numeracy initiatives (FLLN) and in support of the Family Learning Initiative Fund strands has developed and mainstreamed FLLN programmes targeted at Early Years Foundation Stage in addition to supporting workforce development in relation to literacy, language and numeracy and parental engagement through our Step in to Learning programme delivered on behalf of DIUS. Tribal is a specialist publisher of distance learning material leading to nationally accredited qualifications. We have more than 20 years' experience in developing highly creative products and resources for training; using both high and low technology formats to design learning systems that combine skills in learning design, graphics, software engineering and multimedia in a powerful multidisciplinary mix. Our professional support services assist clients to plan, deliver and evaluate learning programmes and processes.
6 Inspection Services Tribal has been inspecting schools on behalf of Ofsted for over ten years. In that time we have successfully carried out over 10,000 inspections in primary, secondary and special schools. We also have experience of inspection early years provision that is associated with maintained schools. For the last four years, Tribal has been the largest inspection provider working with Ofsted, carrying out over 6,500 inspections over this period. Since the contract award in April 2005, we have consistently achieved 100% performance ratings on KPIs 5, 6 and 7, which cover our work on data issues, as well broader co-operation and complaints. For KPIs 1 4 we have always exceeded the minimum quality requirements set since September 2005 with our performance variously described by our Regions as outstanding and exemplary. We have strong professional relationships with Ofsted s professional and administrative staff at both national and regional level. We have worked on specific projects such as piloting and developing improvements in data capture and reporting, improvements in the QA system, developing strategies for the inspection of early years and reduced tariff inspection. While retaining its focus on serving the public sector, a small part of Tribal s revenue is generated from private sector companies. Not only is this important in exposing our professional staff to broader good practice but it often links directly to much of our public sector work. This is particularly the case in training and education initiatives where employers are utilising the support and funding of government agencies.
