Academic transcript must include classes like foreign language, math, science, or administration, not just operational courses If already participated in a J-1 program, and still qualifies as intern, candidate should wait at least one semester between programs As trainee (18 month internship): Graduated for more than 12 months If the studies are related to the position, 1 year experience is required If the studies are not related or the candidate doesn t have a degree, 5 years experience is required If already participated in a J-1 program as intern/trainee, needs to wait 2 years to participate again. All experience must be proven with employer recommendation letter stating dates.
