1 SCHEDULE B: UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE MINIMUM ADMISSION CRITERIA F DEAKIN COURSES This Schedule is pursuant to the Admission Criteria and Selection (Higher Education Courses) procedure. Approved by Academic Board on 7 December Section A: sets out minimum admission criteria for UNDERGRADUATE courses. Section B: sets out minimum admission criteria for POSTGRADUATE coursework programs. NOTES: 1. Standard and course-specific minimum admission criteria are set for undergraduate courses and postgraduate coursework programs. Course-specific variations to the standard criteria require a strong rationale based on: a. prescriptive professional accreditation criteria b. academic considerations, including specific skills needed to participate in the course or where a course is specifically designed for students from a particular background c. strategic considerations, including attraction or enablement of particular student groups or alignment with particular industry needs. 2. Meeting the minimum admission criteria does not guarantee that an applicant will be offered a place in a course (refer clause 7). 3. Formal qualifications with equivalent learning outcomes and equivalent standards of achievement (where specified) to those listed will also be accepted as a basis for admission (refer clause 9). 4. Faculty Boards may specify: a. currency of formal qualifications listed as a basis for admission (refer clause 9) b. the nature of work and/or life experience that will be considered as evidence of ability to meet the demands of the course c. discipline areas that are related to the discipline of a course. 5.
