5 INTRODUCTION 2+2 Articulation Agreement Between College of Western Idaho and Idaho State University Based upon a mutual respect for the integrity of academic programs and in an effort to better serve students who wishing to obtain a bachelor s degree after being awarded an associate s degree; the College of Western Idaho (CWI) and Idaho State University (ISU) hereby enter into an Agreement for a 2+2 Articulation Agreement that upon a student s successful completion in its entirety will result in an associate s degree from CWI and a bachelor s degree from ISU. Efficient completion of the program by students will encompass 2 years of attendance at CWI followed by 2 years of attendance at ISU. OBJECTIVES OF THIS AGREEMENT 1. To facilitate the transition of students from the College of Western Idaho to Idaho State University. 2. To provide specific advisement for students of CWI who intend to pursue their bachelor s degree at ISU.. To encourage academic and administrative coordination between institutions, and the exchange of evaluative information on the outcomes of the program with the goal of continual improvement. 4. To provide qualified students the opportunity to complete an associate s degree from CWI and to complete a bachelor s degree in a total of four years (two at CWI, two at ISU). REQUIREMENTS OF THIS AGREEMENT 1. s must have obtained their associate s degree and be of junior standing (completed 58 or more credits) upon transferring to ISU. 2. s will complete all required course work as outlined in the Articulation Agreement above.. s who are on track to follow this Articulation Agreement, and have maintained continuous enrollment at CWI, will be given catalog year rights at ISU. This means that the catalog year in which a student initially entered CWI is also the catalog year that the student will be provided once he or she transfers. This ensures that students who are following the above articulation agreement are not affected by curriculum changes in their program at ISU. 4. s must be awarded their associates degree at CWI for in order for all general elective requirements to be considered fulfilled at ISU. Failure to do so could result in some CWI general education requirements not fulfilling the general education requirements at ISU. MUTUAL PROMOTION OF THE PROGRAM 1. College of Western Idaho and Idaho State University both agree to encourage qualified students to participate in this Articulation Agreement through advisement and dissemination of information. 2. The Business Department at CWI will make every effort to maintain a list of students actively pursuing the program with the intent to enroll at ISU and will inform the Director of Transfer Services and the Department of Finance & Economics at ISU. This list will be used by the ISU Admissions Office and the Office of the Registrar to determine catalog year rights of transfer students. PROGRAM CHANGES 1. This Articulation Agreement will require an annual revision to ensure all program graduation requirements that change at either institution can be updated. The Business Program at CWI will work closely with the Department of Finance & Economics and the Director of Transfer Services at ISU to update all curriculum changes to the Articulation Agreement. 2. All changes must be updated in the Articulation Agreement and all signatures must be obtained by July 1 for the upcoming academic year TERMINATION OF THE AGREEMENT 1. This Agreement shall be in force until either institution makes a decision in writing to terminate the Agreement. It is agreed that if terminated, both institutions will honor the terms of the Agreement until all students already matriculated at ISU are given the opportunity to complete the program in a timely manner. 2. Termination becomes effective on the first day of July following the written notice of termination; this will enable any qualified CWI student who completes the CWI portion of the requirements of this Agreement prior to the effective date of termination, July 1, to be admitted into the ISU program in the fall semester immediately following the effective termination date.
