2 2 Administrative responsibilities Chairman, Department of Sociology, since 2014 Examinations Coordinator, PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE Joined Department of Social Services, Ministry of Culture and Social Services in 1981 after graduating from the University of Nairobi and served as a Community Development Officer as follows: Narok District 1982 Nandi District 1983 Garissa District South Nyanza District Responsibilities as district head of department from 1983 included coordinating and supervising the following departmental programmes: Community Development Women in Development Youth Development Social Welfare Sports Family Life Education Vocational Rehabilitation. At the same time I was responsible for providing managerial and leadership skills training for community development groups. CONFERENCES, SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS I have attended and presented papers at various learned conferences, seminars and workshops including the following: International Social Work Week Conference held at University of Applied Sciences, Wurzburg-Schweinfurt, Germany. A Kenyatta University 2013/2014 Vice-Chancellors s Research Grants award. Currently supervising one MA student who is taking part in the study.
