The default plan for Frisco ISD is the Foundation High School Program + Endorsement (Multidisciplinary) and the Distinguished Level of Achievement. Your 4 Year Plan should include all of the classes needed to graduate on the FHSP + Endorsement and Distinguished Level of Achievement. The 4.0 additional credits needed can be applied to an endorsement. If you plan to continue with the Multidisciplinary Endorsement you can choose from a variety of additional courses.

Please remember to pick classes you are interested in and don t get too worried about the endorsements. All students are automatically tracked for the Multidisciplinary Endorsement Most of you will meet multiple endorsements without making a special effort to do so. Your interest, choice of career path, and (consequently) endorsement may change during high school. Colleges admission representatives are most attracted to students earning good grades in core classes, class rank, GPA, community service and test scores not endorsements.
You will have the opportunity to take dual credit classes as a sophomore. More information will be given in March during the Dual Credit Info Night. If you are planning to attend Frisco ISD Summer School, the information will be posted on the Frisco ISD website in April/May.
Individual Meetings: Nelson: Tuesday, January 30th You will be able to review your course selections for (verification form) freshman year and make any changes with the counselors.

The Four Core- Choose regular or PAP or AP 9 th grade 10th grade 11 th grade 12 th grade English 1 or PAP English 1 Or GT Humanities English 2 or PAP English 2 English 3 or AP English English 4 or AP English* Dual Credit (taken at Collin College) English is available in 11 th and12 th grade, but you must meet certain criteria to take it. Consequently, do not select it for your 4 year plan at this time.
9 th grade 10th grade 11 th grade 12 th grade *Algebra or PAP Algebra I OR ** Geometry or PAP Geometry (if you are in Alg 1 right now) The Four Core-Choose regular or PAP or AP Geometry or PAP Geometry Algebra 2 or PAP Algebra 2 Algebra 2 or PAP Algebra 2 Precalculus or PAP Precalculus Precalculus or PAP Precalculus AP Calculus or AP Statistics For students wishing to advance further in math, it is allowable to double up on Geometry and Algebra 2 in the same year; in this case, Algebra 2 would take the place of an elective for that year.
9 th grade 10th grade 11 th grade 12 th grade World Geography or AP Human Geography World History or AP World History or GT Humanities US History or AP US History Government & Economics Or AP Government & Economics (each class is one semester) Dual Credit (taken at Collin College) Social Studies is available in 11 th and 12 th grade, but you must meet certain criteria to take it. Consequently, do not select it for your 4 year plan at this time.
The Four Core- Choose regular or PAP or AP 9 th grade 10th grade 11 th grade 12 th grade Biology or PAP Chemistry or PAP Physics or AP Physics 1 Any science-pick one AP Biology AP Chemistry AP Environmental Science AP Physics 2 AP Physics C Anatomy and Physiology Earth and Space Science Environmental Systems Forensic Science (watch prerequisites) Advanced Animal Science (watch prerequisites) Advanced Plant and Soil Science (watch prerequisites) Medical Microbiology (watch prerequisites) Pathophysiology (watch prerequisites) Dual Credit (taken at Collin College) Science is available in 11 th and 12 th grade, but you must meet certain criteria to take it. Consequently, do not select it for your 4 year plan at this time.

For your LOTE credit, you can choose Spanish, French or Chinese. You are required to complete 2 years of the same foreign language. If you are in your second year of middle school Spanish put Spanish 2 in 9 th grade! Plan to start you LOTE credits in freshman or sophomore year. Chinese is taught online only; students with a background in the language are the best fit. Highly selective colleges really like to see 3 or more years!
For Technology, you have the option to choose from the following: BIM Digital Media 3DAnimation Computer Science Computer Maintenance TV Broadcast Intro to Engineering Architectural Design Photojournalism Journalism Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access Photoshop Uses MAYA Programming class, must have already taken Alg 1 The insides of a machine and how it works Filming and editing Beginning engineer class at CTE, but you have to finish Alg 1 first. Design course, but has prerequisite Study of photography and digital cameras Covers all aspects of journalism
For Fine Arts: You can choose from the following: Art Theater Technical Theater Band Choir Dance Floral Design 3D Modeling & Animation Orchestra Music Theory, AP Art History. Students taking band, choir, art, orchestra, or theater for multiple years receive their fine arts credit the first year, and elective credits for the others.
Health science lasts for a full year, so it needs its own box. You must be in 10th grade or older to take health science and satisfy the prerequisite of medical terminology. Example: Health and Speech are semester long classes and worth.5 credits each. Speech Health If you took health in 8th grade, you already earned this credit. Taking these classes during the summer is also an option. If you are interested in the health science program at CTE, you can take Health Science instead of Health.
If you play a sport, write your sport in TWO boxes all four years (except VB and FB only one semester senior year). If you play multiple sports, just pick the sport that happens first in the year. EX. Football players who also play basketball will just write Football. High School athletics is competitive. You must make the team to be in the class. Most require a competitive background in the sport and do not teach you the basics. If you are in band, most students double-block, but you can single-block If you want to be in color guard, write color guard in one box all four years. If you want to be on the drill/dance team, write dance team in one box four years.
If you are not in band, color guard, drill team, or athletics, you must take dance or PE. For Dance write Dance on your card in one box, one time. You can take it up to 4 years if you want. For PE, write in one of these in one box, one time on your card: Team Sports- this class is sport rotations for fun, like Volleyball, Basketball, & Soccer Personal Fitness- healthy living, some bookwork, least physical Aerobics- just what it says..aerobic activity (workout videos, some swimming) Weightlifting- you work in the weight room on the machines. Adventures in Outdoor Education- camping, archery, fishing, hunting
For endorsements you have to follow a pathway. Most CTE classes have a pathway or an order to them. Use the WHITE FISD Endorsement Pathways as a guide. Plan backwards with prerequisites in mind Electives are classes you elect or choose to take. Think about classes you would like to try or classes that might be related to your career choice down the road. Take advantage of the opportunity to explore! Look at the WHITE 9/10 & 11/12 Course Selection sheet to see what year you can take the different classes. Use the Frisco ISD Course Catalog to learn more about the courses.
