17 Updates on Student and Community Engagement Student Visits We have met with the entire student body at Thornton, Hopper and Kahla We have met 6 times with student leadership groups at each Middle School Feeder Assisted in developing the ballot for mascot and the crest for the school We took a group of leaders to a conference hosted by Balfour: Pathways to Leadership Coaches have been meeting with athletes Upcoming Student leader meeting with all campuses to finalize the school crest Visit each student body Parent Visits Participated in multiple Parent Meetings as Thornton and Hopper All Parent Meeting at Hopper with over 400 parents participating

18 Important High School Terms Credit When successfully completing a semester one period course 1/2 unit (0.5 credit) is awarded. Units are called credits. (7 courses = 3.5 credits) GPA (Grade Point Average) The average of all the student s grades starting from the freshman year. (dividing the total number of grade points by the number of classes) *Geometry K and Span /French III/IV K taken in middle school will be calculated in HS GPA. Determines your class rank Class Rank The measure of a student s performance in comparison to other students your class (EX. 50/800 = #50 out of 800 students )
