Nov. 11 2014 Dec 2015 President of India launched Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Program and Website as flagship programme of MHRD, GOI Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture - Nodal agency under UBA for Organic Farming conducted one National Workshop at Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow
March, 2016 Milestones of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture four Regional Workshops on Organic Farming. 2016 100 UBA training centers to be set up on Organic farming by ICAR in the country during 2016-17. 2016 AICTE has made UBA part of the accreditation process for its Institutions
Milestones of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Convergence with Other Ministries of Govt. of India 1. Ministry of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj To link Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and other schemes 2. Ministry of water Resources & Ganga Rejuvenation Institutes of higher education have adopted five villages each in the Ganga Basin under Namami Gange Program. 3. Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Involving NSS in UBA activities. 4. ICAR, Ministry of Agriculture
Tripartite Agreement for UBA The Tripartite Agreement entered into between the Ministries of HRD, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj on the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan programme, with the objective of joint endeavour to achieve the deliverables. Signed by respective Secretaries on 12 th Jan 2017. Ministry of Panchayati Raj would issue instructions to all State governments and local bodies about this arrangement, instructing the involvement of knowledge institutions in GPDP process. It help in allocation of financial resource ensuring quality GPDP formulation. Ministry of Rural Development will make available SECC 2011 data to the IIT Delhi so as to formulate Household level Plans and monitor the progress over next 10 years. It will also facilitate via its network, participation of DCs, DRDAs etc. to assist the program process. Also help in resource allocation for GPDP implementation. Ministry of HRD will ensure overall coordination among three Ministries party to this arrangement. It will encourage all Higher Education Institutions to adopt village clusters in their vicinity for increasing the coverage throughout country. It will ensure participation and monitoring of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj personnel in activities of UBA.

Regional Workshops for UBA MHRD proposed to organize region-wise meeting of all stake holders in respect of the 89 chosen districts for Phase-1 The theme of the workshop was to sensitize and orient the stakeholders viz, District Administration, Nodal officers towards the aims and goals of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
Regional Workshop for West Zone 10 th Nov. 2016 at IIT Bombay 15 District Collectors from Jodhpur, Jhabua, Panna, Alirajpur, Akola, Ahmednagar, Pune, Thane, Aurangabad, Raigad, Valsad, Surat, Dang, Tapi and Gandhinagar participated. 37 UBA representatives from 24 Participating Institutes attended the meet. 9 Officers from different Govt. agencies also attended. Regional Workshop for South Zone 4 th Nov. 2016 at NIRD&PR Hyderabad. 3 District Collectors from Medak, Warangal, Thiruvananthapuram participated. 24 UBA Nodal Officers from 12 Participating Institutes attended the meet. IIT Delhi as Coordinating Institute, NIRD&PR as Resource Institute Sensitization and familiarisation about UBA among PIs and District Administration. District Collectors discussed joint action program. Sh.VLVSS Subbarao, Economic Advisor MHRD addressed the participants Dr.W.R.Reddy, DG NIRDPR laid emphasis on the need of rural development in social engineering in terms of change of minds of rural people and UBA must be seen as a voluntary effort in helping the rural population to transform their livelihoods. Prof Rajendra Prasad (Advisor UBA, IITD) highlighted some rural development success stories
India International Science Festival 2016 Dec. 7-11, 2016 at NPL Pusa Campus, New Delhi Participation under UBA Pavilion 25 Technology Appropriation for Rural Areas (TARA) Core Groups of DST participated. 9 UBA participating Institutes (IIT Delhi, Bombay, Guwahati, Roorkee, Kharagpur, Jodhpur, SVNIT Surat etc also exhibited rural technologies. 2 NGOs viz, VenuMadhuri, SwamiNarayan Sansthan participated. 4 RuTAG groups from IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee participated under UBA pavilion. RuTAG-IIT Delhi fetched Best Stall award for showcasing the appropriate Rural Technologies under UBA banner presented by Hon. Minister S&T Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
Training Program for Capacity Building and Participatory Planning of Nodal Officers Institutions with regards to implementing Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Two training program was organized held at National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad during Jan 4-6, (1 st Training Program) and 31 st March to 3 rd April 2017 (2 nd Training Program) About 61 Participating Institutes including IITs, NITs, and other premier institutes represented by their respective Nodal Offices and designated faculty members attended the training program The training covered following aspects:- I. Survey of the cluster village for identification of problem areas. II. Need assessment, requirement with incorporation of knowledge inputs and revise plans and finalize them with local bodies along with communities, panchayat etc. III. Utilize the existing knowledge base and institutionalizing the area wise such as drinking water, education, health, agricultural practices, electrification, agricultural and rural industries, cooking energy, and watershed analysis. IV. Foster collaborations between governance, knowledge institutions and local communities for GPDP.
