Phase 2 Head Boy/ Head Girl Second Shortlisting based on Interviews Shortlisting Completed by 6 April by letter Successful Candidates: Speeches 25 April and 2 May Speeches to be emailed to Mrs Mather by 21 April Staff Vote : 24 April 2 May Student Vote: 25 April and 2 May Head Boy and Girl Elected: Final Decision on Deputy Head Boys and Girls made by the KS4 Team 2.5.17
Deputy Head Boy and Girl These are appointed as a result of the student and staff vote. The 2 boys and girls who are closest in votes after the Head Girl and Boy will be appointed as their deputies. Their role is to support the Head Boy and Girl, support the prefect team, run checking duties and be used in public events for the school. They will also support with the Prom and the Year Book.
Ambassadors Role This role is only offered to those students who applied for the Head Boy and Girl role and were shortlisted for speeches. Those students not successful in the staff and student vote will be appointed as Ambassadors. Ambassadors are used in a number of public events, parents evenings, induction and celebration evenings. They also run the Prom and develop the Year book. In addition they will be used to check duties, lunchtime rooms and support the Head Boy and Girl in their roles.

Prefects Roles: Blue Tie and Badge 1: To carry out supervision of lunchtime rooms three times per week supporting staff and students in your duty area 2: To work with a head prefect on a specific role in school 3: Deliver assemblies as the role requires 4: Work in Y8 and Y9 forms as a support 5: Provide a Role Model for others to aspire to. Privileges: Common room Fob. Access and use of the Common Room. Position of responsibility within the KS4 Student Team
Prefect with responsibility for: Anti Smoking Ambassador: Blue Tie and Pin Badge Complete lunch duties x 2 week supporting staff and students in your duty area Work with The Anti smoking agency to deliver sessions to KS3 and develop anti-smoking awareness in the school Liaise with Mr Mountford to develop this role throughout next year Deliver assemblies and promote campaigns throughout the year raising awareness Privileges: Common room Fob. Access and use of the Common Room. Position of responsibility within the KS4 Student Team. Working with outside agencies which will involve activities in school and potentially out of school throughout the year.
Prefect with responsibility for: Youth Site Team: Blue Tie and Pin Badge Complete lunch duties x 2 week supporting staff and students in your duty area Work with KS4 council to take on board student ideas Ensure that the school has a nice environment by: Developing the recycling and litter campaigns at the school Manage and maintain the Common Room taking responsibility for the budgeting, supplies and appearance Develop ideas on displays. Maintain the KS4 and KS3 displays. Work within curriculum areas to help develop and improve the environment Privileges: Common room Fob. Access and use of the Common Room. Position of responsibility within the KS4 Student Team.
