1 Woodhouse Primary School Sports Spending PE and Sports Grant The government is providing additional funding of 150 million per annum to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport has been allocated to Primary School Budgets. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Sports Grant Report Costs Grant received = 8,000 Total number of pupils on role Summary of Grant spending Total estimated spend is 12,380 (carry over from previous year). Plus 10,000 from Lottery Grant for outdoor gym. Objective To provide pupils with high quality teaching in PE lessons and ensure the curriculum continues to develop with a range of competitive opportunities To provide physical activity during playtimes To provide intra and inter competitive sporting opportunities for all pupils Increase the range of extra -curricular and alternative (non-traditional) and inclusive sporting activities Develop provision to encourage healthy and active lifestyles To work in partnership with other schools on PE and To use PE and as a tool for whole school improvement To provide continued professional development to upskill staff in PE

More confident and competent staff Enhanced quality of teaching and learning Improved pupil attitudes to PE practice and offer more external CPD opportunities to teaching and support staff in Staff audit will highlight needs and areas of attention. To provide physical activity during playtimes Playground leader training, resources for midday assistants, change 4 life club, child run clubs 800 Trafford Sports Membership (as above) includes change 4 life club 200 Trafford leisure to train summer term cool competitions More confident and competent midday staff Increased capacity and sustainability Improved behaviour Improved pupil attitudes to physical activity Easier pupil management External skilled coaches to deliver playground leader training which provides workforce to deliver a range of activities. Extra training for summer term when field is accessible and least active children can be targeted.

Variety of after school provision football (boys and girls), netball, rounders and athletics. 720 transport to year group competitions 500 Longford Park 1000 Whole School Events 450 After School Clubs 200 Play Leader Summer Training Extended provision Increased staffing capacity Improved positive attitudes to health and well-being and PE and school sport Clearer talent pathways Engaged or re-engaged less active pupils More confident and competent pupils activities Increased staffing capacity and sustainability Enhanced communication with parents / carers Increased school-community links Developing a competitive ethos across the school and pupils demonstrating Olympic values when competing. Competing against other schools. Increasing pupils participation in the School Games. Staff upskilled to continue activities and to develop a workforce to ensure a range of extra-curricular sporting provision. Encouraging and involve the least active children to take up and participate physical activities.

Staff audit and consultation with staff will highlight needs and areas of attention. Interview children to ensure trends and needs are met and learning in PE is assessed. Display board and What s on board ensure promotion of clubs and activities feedback on these in audit.
