BRAND DEVELOPMENT Summer Camp 2015 at Pune Like every year, NKBA conducted its 5th Li-Ning - NKBA Annual Summer Camp from 20th April to 31st May 2015. The camp was spanned over 6 weeks, comprising of 183 participants in total. This was a new record for NKBA, also the recognition of the quality of coaching at NKBA. Participants hailed from various regions of Maharashtra and other states added different flavors to the camp. As the statistics goes, out of 183 players, 118 players were from Pune and 64 were from outside Pune. 42 players were from Maharashtra state and 22 were from 6 other states namely W. Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, & Assam. Players from Maharashtra were from cities like Akola, Ahmednagar, Ratanagiri, Nasik, Wai, Baramati, Pen, Jalgaon, Nanded, Ichalkanji and Mumbai. The summer camp participants were given rigorous training at NKBA by the Head Coach Nikhil Kanetkar along with his team of 12 coaches and 3 physical trainers. As a special feature, a renowned coach from Kolkata, Badal Bhattacharya Sir, having huge experience in coaching, trained players for a week with his own style. It was indeed a privilege for the participants and coaches to learn new method of coaching from him. It was heartwarming to witness the felicitation of Badal Sir and Modak Sir (Nikhil's coach during his formative playing years) during the closing ceremony. The camp was concluded with an Internal Tournament within the participants. The winners received prizes, sponsored by Li- Ning, at the hands of Mr. Omprakash Bakoria Joint Municipal Commissioner Summer Camp 2015 at Nashik 2nd Annual Summer Camp was held at Nashik. This was sponsored by Li Ning-NKBA. More than 50 players participated. Mr. Amit Deshpande & his coaching team were guided by Nikhil Kanetkar for planning of coaching. Director's Visits Director & Head Coach Nikhil Kanetkar was invited as a speaker in the Sports Journalists National Convention. Nikhil visited Kolkata & Jamshedpur in December on invitation Bengal Badminton Association to train their players. More than 25 players participated and had rich experience of training to enhance their skills. Visit to Latur for training the local players and delivered a seminar in Poddar college. Sponsoring School Nationals at Pune All India 6th School National for Under 19 players was organized by Maharashtra Government from 6th to 9th May 2015. Li Ning NKBA partly sponsored this important event. Kanetkar Sports Foundation (KSF) was formed in June to help needy & deserving players in future.

NKBA ACHIEVEMENTS There was significant improvement in NKBA players and is clearly revealed through their achievements at District Level, State Level, National Level & International Level Tournaments. Following is the brief report of their achievements - Eight NKBA players reached finals in various categories in Solaris Tournament; NKBA won the 5 finals. This was dominating performance by NKBA players! In Amanora Badminton Tournament also yet another dominating performance with 8 finals and Purva Barve winning Triple Crown - Girls Under 19 & Under 17 also Womens Singles! This was commendable performance by NKBA player. Jhanavi Kanitkar and Varun Kapur won the titles in Under 15 Category. New kids on the block - Addya Parasnis played his heart out to loose graciously the Boys Singles Under 11 Finals but Tara Shah won the Girls Singles Under 13 event. Consistent performance is the hallmark of NKBA players. Even in State Level & State Championship, NKBA players exhibited their skills. In Senior State Championship (Maharashtra) NKBA player Mudra Dhainje won the Womens Singles Crown by upsetting the Indian Top Ranked payer Neha Pandit. Highlight is the Pune District team won the team championship under the guidance of coach Nikhil Kanetkar!

In State Junior Championship held at Latur, Purva reached two Finals and won the title in Girls Singles Under 13 category. In State Sub-Junior Championship held at Parbhani (Maharashtra), Janhavi Kanitkar won the Double Crown (Girls Under 13 & Girls Doubles Under 13). Orijit Chaliha from Assam won the Double Crown (Boys Singles Under 17 years and Under 19 years) in Assam State Championship NKBA player Abhimanyu Singh won the Triple Crown in M.P. Senior State Championship. Yash Yogi won the Singles Titles (Junior & Senior) in Chhattisgarh State Championship Arunesh & Adarsh form Chennai (Trainees in last year summer camp) became Tamilnadu State champions Under 15 Singles and Doubles. NKBA coach Ajay Rathi reached 35+ Men's singles finals in Veteran State (Maharashtra) Championship at Nagpur

In National Level Ranking Tournaments, NKBA players excelled to mark their arrival at the National scene. India Ranking Tournaments: NKBA player Subhankar Day reached finals in V. V. Natu Memorial tournament at Pune. Subhankar Day won his first Men's Singles title in All India Senior Ranking Tournament held at Kochi Sukant Kadam is being trained at NKBA since last 1 and half year. He reached final of Men's singles in Para Nationals. Sasmit Patil won the Under 14 team Gold; Aniruddha Mayekar won the Under 19 team Silver in School Nationals held at Ahmednagar. Though it was beginning for NKBA players to play in International tournaments, the experience would be extremely useful in long term. Pratul Joshi - Indian ranked NKBA player, reached finals in Men's singles at Bahrain International Series In Singapore Asian Jr. International Series, Purva Barve and Orijit Chaliha did extremely well.

Sachin Sharma - mentally challenged player, trained at NKBA, became World Champion in Mens Singles at Special Olympics at Los Angeles Akash & Arman Rattu from UK come to NKBA twice in a year to train at NKBA. Recently They won the local tournament in their respective categories. RANKING OF NKBA PLAYERS Excellent performance of the NKBA Senior and Junior players is reflected in their National ranking.
