1 Marine Department Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2016 Summer Intern (ITMS) No. of Vacancy: 1 Entry Requirements: studying Information Technology/Computer Science, or other relevant subject(s) acceptable to the Director of Marine, or equivalent, and with a view to obtaining a Bachelor Degree in summer 2017; Skills/Knowledge in Microsoft Office and Dreamweaver are required; Skills/Knowledge in the use of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) in Microsoft Excel, website maintenance, web programming (including AJAX, HTML5, Java, JavaScript, JSON and PHP) and developing Apple iphone OS or Android SDK applications are preferred; and To assist in conducting a review of the contents on the websites of the Marine Department (MD), including but not limited to the Hong Kong Shipping Directory and the MD Intranet website; To update the MD web pages after the review; and To develop simple computer programs. 2 Summer Intern (Administration Secretariat) No. of Vacancy: 2 Entry Requirements: studying Chinese Language/English Language/Translation/Law/Public Administration/Human Resource Management, or other relevant subject(s) acceptable to the Director of Marine, or equivalent, and with a view to obtaining a Bachelor Degree in summer 2017; Skills/Knowledge in Chinese word processing and Excel; and To perform administrative duties relating to records management including reviewing the existing mechanism and working out the improvement proposal. Summer Intern (P&D) No. of Vacancy: 2 Entry Requirements: studying English Study or Translation, or other relevant subject(s) acceptable to the Director of Marine, or equivalent, and with a view to obtaining a Bachelor Degree in summer 2017; Skills/Knowledge in computer operation such as MS Word, MS Excel, typing (Chinese & English); and To process and analyse data information; To communicate with boaters and take notes of their feedback; and To provide administrative support such as preparing guidelines and templates for production of Marine Department Notices. Except otherwise provided, the rest day, statutory holiday, general holidays, sickness days and sickness allowance are generally in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance (Cap.57).
