2 University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin (WSEI) was established on the strength of the permission of the Minister of Education and Sport of 24th October WSEI was the second nonpublic institution of higher education in Lublin.

3 The Polish Foundation of the Opportunities Industrialization Centers "OIC Poland", founder of the University is founder of the University. The idea was to create an independent private higher education institution, which could shape the future leaders being able to contribute to the development of Lublin Region.

4 THE MISSION The mission of the University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin is to ensure, in cooperation with the local community, a wide range of educational services that help to improve the socio-economic condition of the region and prepare students for professional and civic life.

11 In respond to latest needs of students and Labour Market, WSEI (as a first university in the Region) is implementing a modular system of teaching. Modular system of teaching is a big step ahead in the process of establishing close cooperation between business and educationsector in the aim of modernization of higher education curricula.

13 Didactic base of the University WSEI has its own modern didactic base, (about m²) equipped with modern audio-visual and multimedia, including: 5 halls (for 340, 300, 280, 220 and 200 people), 3 large classrooms for lectures, 8 computer lab equipped with computers of a new generation (180 stations with access to the Internet) 30 classrooms and seminar (from 20 to 100 people) computerized library with a reading room, fitness room, canteens for students sports hall with an area of m² adjacent to the sanitary facilities.

14 Didactic base of the University The University has also a number of specialist teaching laboratories. These laboratiories were created during implementation of two projects co-financed from EU-founds. Under the project Centre for InformationTechnology and Transport Security 11 laboratories of transport and computer science were created.

Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering 2. Laboratoryof Applied Informatics 3. Laboratory of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (GC/LC/MS) 4. Laboratory of Transport Psychology

16 Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering The laboratory consists of : Laboratory for tests of strength of materials and mechanics of transport damage Computer laboratory for simulation of construction Laboratory of rapid prototyping, playing (repair) propulsion components; Laboratory for vibro-acoustic diagnosis of means of transport Laboratory of numerically controlled machine tools (CNC)

20 The Centre for Projects and International Cooperation A unit established under WSEI structures in October The Centre provides the broad spectrum of activities, enabling to acquire EU resources for the various groups of participants, and maintains relations with many institutions from the academic sector in Poland, and across Europe.

22 Educational Projects Aimed at widening the knowledge with the use of innovative methods of teaching. Under the framework of educational projects WSEI established cooperation with 360 teachers from 90 education units and the project activities covered 9 voivodeships across the country. "School of Key Competences. Development Program - upgrading of skills by pupils from Eastern, Central and South West Poland".

23 University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin Research projects Analysis of the interactions between the business sector and labor market in the region. Indicating the areas of need and potential support. Implementation of the findings obtained from researches on a set of actions undertaken towards effective changes on the labor market. With new laboratories of transport and computer science, WSEI can provide the world-class facilities for an academic staff who are conducting research in a broad spectrum of areas.

24 University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin Training projects Activities orientated towards a wide range of occupational groups i.e. people at working-age, unemployed and socially excluded people, in order to adjust and develop their intellectual potential, hence boost an individual s employability prospects and improve their position on the labor market. We posses the key competences the main training project, which covered 100 young unemployed people.

25 Investment projects Focused on expanding the didactic base and scientific research facilities with the aim of improving the quality of education and access the latest knowledge. The biggest investments that WSEI had made were: building the New Technology Centre of WSEI, creating the Centre for InformationTechnology and Transport Security with 11 new laboratories of transport and computer science. Under these projects also Innovative Center for Diagnostic, Research and Analysis is currently being created.

26 In the programming period , 11 projects co-financed by the European Union was completed. They covered the entire country with its range and were directed to very different social groups, from working people (local administration, government, business) through the unemployed to students and pupils. Under the previous funding period , WSEI carried out 29 projects, with the total amount of PLN 160 mln. Under the new funding period , WSEI carries out a further 4 international projects with the total amount of EUR ,00 and 8 national project, with the total amount of PLN ,32

Project aimed at development of trainig and information materials about entrepreneurship dedicated for young people in Europe.

LdV TOI project, where WSEI is a partner. Project aimed at fostering the employability of managers (both unemployed and retired) by up skilling and exploiting their competencies in training and consultancy processes.

Erasmus Multilateral Projects, where WSEI is a partner. Project aimed at development shared academic and practice based programmes, that enable European universities to build improvement capability and capacity within their own healthcare workforce.

Erasmus Multilateral Projects, where WSEI is a leader. The project is aimed to improve entrepreneurship education at universities and in such way to contribute to better quality of higher education and its' potential to produce entrepreneurial graduates.

The main aim of the LEARN IT project, is to develop a set of tools and solutions, which may be helpful in improving effectiveness of learning mathematical content by the stimulation of the level of concentration accordingly to personal rhythm of given person

The main aim of the project is to raise the quality of the process aimed to define capacities, aptitudes and professional interests of secondary/vocational schools students and adults, and conducting career guidance through creation of a modern modular system for analysis, diagnosis and education guidance of career that would support the work of career counselors.
