1 Sports and Games Club Report This year the achievements of our student in Sports and Games are remarkable. Our Boys Tennis Team won the first place and Girls team won the second place in the Inter-collegiate Tennis tournament organized by our college on Jan 25 th and 26 th, Our Cricket team has won the Runner up position in the Mangalore University, Udupi Zone Cricket Tournament organized by Our college in Jan. and Feb., 2012 and Winner s in the Mangalore University inter zone for the Mangalore university inter zone for first time. Four student representing Mangalore University in the Inter-University Tournament, organized by Different Universities: 1. Mr.Sukesh Amin of I B.B.M represented the Mangalore University Cricket team in the south Zone Inter-University Cricket Tournament Held in Hyderabad. 2. Mr. Allen D Silva of III B.B.M and Mr.James D Silva of III B.Com represented Mangalore University in the All India Inter-University Tennis Tournament held at Manipal. 3. Mr.Vivian Lewis of II B.Com represented Mangalore University in the All India Chess Tournament held at Chennai. Mr. M.C. Hegde

2 Sports and Games Club Report College hosted Mangalore University inter Collegiate Tournament (Men & Women) in August Twenty-nine Men s team and Twenty-six women s teams participated in the tournament. College Volleyball, cricket, tennis (M & W), Chess(M & W),football, ball badminton, shuttle badminton and athletic team participated in MUIC Tournament held at different colleges. Men s Tennis team won the Second place in MUIC Tournament held at SDM College, Ujire. Three students represent the Mangalore University in the Inter University Tournament held at different places. 1.Mr. Sukesh Amin (II B.A)- Cricket held at MAHE University Maniple. 2. Mr. Karthik (I B.Com)- Ball Badminton held at Warrangan, AndraPradesh. 3. Mr. Vivian Lewis (III B.Com)- Chess held at Trivandrum (Kerala). College annual sport meet was held on Mr. Prabhu D.T.Circle Inspector of Police Brahmavar inaugurated the meet and Mr.Denesh Kumar, physical education Director, Manipal PU College was the chief guest at the valedictory function. 3 Sports and Games Club Report The year is a glorious year for Sports and Games. The Mangalore University has given the responsibility to host the South Zone Inter-University Women s Kho-Kho tournament to our college. This Megha event was held at our college from November 23 to 26, Universities from Southern State took part in this Megha Tournament. The tournament was inaugurated by our Honourable Sports Minister Mr. K. Abhayachandra Jain. Prof. T. C. Shivashankara Murthy, the Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University presided the function and Mr. K. JayaprakashHegde, MP, Udupi Chickmagalur, Mr. Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA, Udupi, MrsShobha Narayan, former Karnataka Kho-Kho team Captain were present as Chief Guests. At the Valedictory function Prof. Fakirappa, Finance Officer, Mangalore University, Dr. PrakashTolar, Psychiatrist, Kundapur were the Chief Guests. The tournament was a great success and has won the appreciation of all the participants. College also hosted Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Men Kho-Kho Tournament on 3 rd and 4 th February and Men and Women Tennis Tournament on 6 th and 7 th February Achievements: Our Boys Tennis and Ball Badminton team won the Runner- up place in the Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Tournament. GiridharNayakof I B. Com won the Bronze Medal in the Mangalore University Inter- Collegiate Swimming Competition(1500 mts Free Style) held at Mangalore. Mr. Avinash of II B. Com won the Bronze Medal in Karnataka State Power Lifting Competition held at Mangalore and Bronze Medal in the Mangalore University Inter-Collegiate Power Lifting Competition (63 kg.) held at Govt. College, Tenkanidiyur. Mr. Shridhara of II B.A. has won the first place bothin Javeline Throw and Shot put in the Udupi District Srilankan Athletic Meet held at Udupi and MsReshma of I B.A. won the first place in High Jump and 2 nd place at Javeline throw in the same Meet. Mr. Kiran of I B.A. represented Mangalore University in the All India Kho-Kho tournament held at Trivendrum and Mr. Sadhashiva of I B. Com. Represented Mangalore University in the South Zone Ball Badminton Tournament held at Vellore(A.P.).

4 College Annual Sports Meet held on 11 th January, Mr. PrakashchandraShetty, Chairman, G.M. Vidyaniketan Public School, Brahmavar inaugurated the Meet and Dr. PramodShetty, Dentist, Kundapur was the Chief Guest. 5 Sports and Games Club Report The College men ball badminton team won the runners-up in the MUIC Tournament held at our College on 27 th and 28 th Jan., 2015 and college Swimming Team won the 3 rd place in the MUIC competition organized by Govt. College, Bettampady on 14 th Aug., In the Udupi Dist. Dasara Sports Meet. Our men ball badminton team and Kho-Kho team won first place respectively. The College Cricket Team won the runners-up place in the MUIC (Udupi Zone) Tournament held at Manipal. Sandesh of I B.Com. Won the Bronze medal in the MUIC Swimming Competition and our Relay Team, consisting of Giridhar Nayak, II B.Com., Sandesh, I B.Com. Dhanush, II B.Com. andsuraj of I B.Com., won the 3 rd place in the mt. and mt. Relay Competition in the same Swimming Competition. Mr. Shridhar of III B.A. secured Bronze Medal in Javeline Throw in the MUIC in Athletic Meet held at Alva s College, Moodbidri on 8 th Dec., Mr. Koushik of II B.Com.won the 1 st Board Prize in the MUIC Chess Tournament held at Govt. College, Karkala on 10 th Sept., Participation in University Level Events MS. Prakruthi of I B.Com. represented Mangalore University in Kho-Kho which won the Third Place in All India Intervarsity Tournament, held at Rajasthan. Mr. Sadashiva of II B.Com.represented Mangalore University in Ball Badminton in the South Zone Intervarsity Tournament, held at Chennai. Mr. Kiran of III B.A. represented Mangalore University in Kho-Kho in the South Zone Intervarsity, held at Chennai. Mr. Sachin of II B.Com.represented Mangalore University in Cricket in the South Zone Intervarsity Tournament, held at Thiruvanathapuram. This year our college hosted MUIC Men Ball Badminton Tournament on 27 th & 28 th Jan., 2015 and Lawn Tennis Tournament on 6 th February, The Annual Sport Meet was held on Glen D Souza of II B.B.M. and Reshma of II B.A. emerged as Champions Men s and Women s sections respectively.
