Any student(s) caught cheating will receive NO points for the exam or quiz in which the cheating occurred, and/or will be subject to the disciplinary procedures of Kellogg Community College (at the discretion of the instructor). During quizzes and exams, all personal property must be cleared off the table area to eliminate the potential for academic dishonesty. SAFE CLASSROOMS/SUCCESSFUL CLASSROOMS INITIATIVE: Kellogg Community College is dedicated to providing a safe environment which is conductive to success for all students. When instructors notice that a student is struggling emotionally, intellectually, or behaviorally with classroom expectations, instructors will notify the appropriate personnel on campus to intervene and provide assistance to that student. Academic assistance is available in The Bridge and through academic advisors in Student Services; limited personal counseling is also available in Student Services. Students who behavior suggests they are struggling may also be contacted by Campus Safety for informal well-being checks. If students have concerns about others behavior in class or on campus, those students are encouraged to discuss their concerns with Campus Safety directly. ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT: PHONES, ipods etc.: When you are in class, all cell phones and pages must be on mute. Turn off, take off and put away all auditory devises. If you receive and EMERGENCY call, please take it out in the hall way. No personal use of electronic devises (other than calculators) is acceptable behavior for the learning environment. If the instructor has to repeatedly ask you to stop speaking on the phone, sending/receiving text messages or turn off personal music you will be referred to the Student Handbook Student Code of Conduct, Disruptive Behavior section (p66) and action may be taken. ASSIGNMENTS/HOMEWORK: You will have problems assigned each class day and are expected to practice all assigned problems. No assignment or quiz can be turned in/made up after the unit test covering that material without specific permission. No late homework will be accepted. TESTS: There will be regular 1-hour unit tests and a comprehensive final exam. Each will be recorded based on percentage correct (0 100%). All test dates will be scheduled in advance but may be changed at any time. You are responsible to bring your own

5 pencil/pen and calculator. Cell phones are NOT calculators. Any calculator with a keyboard, wireless or infrared device is not permitted. All electronic devises except calculators must be turned off and put away. DERIVATION OF STUDENT GRADE: Grades are based on homework, examinations and possible quizzes or assigned homework as determined by the instructor. In any case, a request will only be considered if you have attended regularly for at least 11 weeks and maintained a passing grade of C or better. COMMUNICATION: I communicate best by and will frequently respond within 24 hours of your (often much sooner). I will guarantee during the work week that you will hear from me within 48 hours. Please don't be afraid to ask, it is probably the most important thing you can do to be successful!!
