8 Education The education element of the will be provided by the award winning Sussex Downs College and will be delivered at the college s Eastbourne campus. The high standards at Sussex Downs College are founded on the expertise, experience and talents of the staff and the many achievements of the college s learners. Sussex Downs College is the largest education provider in East Sussex and is a member of the 157 Group of Colleges nationally, who work together to promote and develop further education. The diverse curriculum ensures that there are education and training pathways for a wide variety of learners, employees and communities. All Scholars Depending upon a combination of their qualifications and subject selections will receive an academic timetable put together by the college tutors specific to the relevant chosen subjects, once the scholars academic timetables have been suitably structured the coaching staff create an individual football programme specific to each individual scholar which suitably fits together with the academic timetable to create the players full time programme. We firmly believe that as many players as possible should leave us with the required academic qualifications to enable them if desired, to progress and move onto an appropriate form of further education relevant to each respective individual. We therefore aim and expect that at least 95% of scholars within the clubs programme successfully achieve the grades needed in order to effectively open up and make available the preferred future pathways and or opportunities. 9 Player Reviews The and Eastbourne Borough as a whole in co-operation with Sussex Downs College is committed to firstly setting and maintaining the highest of standards both on the grass and in the classroom before ensuring that both academic and footballing performance is measured and reviewed on a consistent basis. Eastbourne Borough fundamentally believes it to be vital that all players are provided with a transparent working environment where each individual is fully informed and aware of their academic and footballing progress within the programme, and is therefore given the bes opportunity possible to achieve the standards and targets set by both the football club and college. A major aspect of the encouraged transparent working environment is that the Players are also given the opportunity to voice their opinions and ideas so that the football club and college can ensure that the overall programme continues to meet the needs and requirements of the learners. All scholars on a week to week basis will be reviewed and provided feedback on both academic and footballing level as well as being given the opportunity to independently reflect on their own respective performance and their own working environment. On top of the week to week feedback players will also be given two formal reviews throughout the season to address their academic and footballing progress as well as to set achievable and relevant targets so that all learners are given the best opportunity possible to achieve their on and off-field potential.
