6 Important Information Credit/ No Credit due Sept.11 Typically helps weighted GPA if you are in any accel or honor s courses Allows you to try classes without worrying about earning an A or B (must earn a C- or better to get credit) Typically, colleges do not want to see your social studies elective as cr/nc. See your counselor in person if considering it. State colleges of California do not accept cr/nc for their creative art requirement One elective per semester Academic Level Change due Sept. 11 Talk to your teacher first if you want to level change and ask for a form

9 Importance of High School Planning for College Factors in thoughtful post high school planning: Grades / GPA: the main factor colleges consider for admittance as well as for scholarships. Colleges see both weighted and unweighted GPA. Test scores (such as ACT or SAT) are a main factor used for college admittance as well as for scholarships. Colleges look at the level of your classes. They want to see that you are challenging yourself while still earning good grades. Activities / Community Service/Jobs Leadership Roles/Experiences Teacher recommendations (start getting to know your teachers and being a good leader in your classes) Essays (eventually you will write college essays)
