GRAMMAR REVIEW: General Description: Topic: Present Perfect Progressive Tense (5-6 minutes) The Present Perfect Progressive Tense shows/describes a continuous action that has been finished at some point in the past or that was started in the past and continues to happen in the present. The action is usually of limited duration and important at the present. This tense is formed with the modal "have" or "has" (for third-person singular subjects) plus "been," plus the present participle of the verb (with an -ing ending): Examples: Pattern: Subject + has/have + been + verb(-ing) Positive Negative Question I / you / we / they I have been working. Remember: There are three situations where one can use the Present Perfect Progressive tense 1. To put emphasis on the duration of action: o She has been monitoring the construction site for three hours. 2.
