2 MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPS CONSTRUCTION This camp will introduce various construction management disciplines and information technology use in the construction industry, included will be contracting, scheduling, and estimating exercises through a set of activities that are fun, challenging, and thought provoking. Class Fee: $160 Dates: July 23-27, 8:30am-12:30pm Age Group: Middle School Students PANCAKES, WAFFLES AND CREPES Not the all famous Pancakes, Waffles, Crepes, and Blintzes are limited to breakfast. This week students are going to change up the famous recipes to include dishes that can be for lunch and dinner as well as breakfast. We will focus on simple recipes that can be traditional or exotic. How about a pancake topped with Captain Crunch, banana, and peanut butter for breakfast? Or a pancake made into a taco and filled with a meat filling and salsa for dinner. Alternatively, a crepe with chicken salad for lunch. We have waffles that we will make into French toast or bread pudding, topped with a blueberry sauce. Waffles for breakfast and dinner with ice cream and berries. Rich cheese blintzes with a fruit compote, or Russian blinis with smoked salmon and a spring salad. To touch on the exotic, we will have a little caviar with our blinis. Students will be working in the culinary and the baking lab to develop knife skills, cutting vegetable skills, baking skills, and understanding recipes. Come have fun! 3 SWEET FOODS AND CHOCOLATE DECORATING CAMP How much fun to work with chocolate? This week we will work on techniques that build your creativity in design and art. Delicious candies, molded chocolates, and truffles. Students will be making their own chocolates and decorating them. Come and learn ways to be fancy with chocolate design. Class Fee: $170 Dates: June 25-29, 8:30am-12:30pm Age Group: Middle School Students SOUTHERN COOKING As a kid, my favorite day of the week was Sunday. We would all sit down at the table and share stories of the week. Of course a meal was involved, we would have fried chicken, garden vegetables, mashed potatoes, potato salad, homemade rolls, sweet tea, and finish with fruit crisps or pie. Students, this week we hit the south. From my Sunday to yours, we will learn how to cut up a chicken and fry it as my mom and grandma taught me. We will also make delicious mac and cheese, potato salad, deviled eggs, and casseroles. We will bake too: steaming fresh rolls and cherry crisp with homemade ice cream. This, then, can be your new Sunday! Class Fee: $170 Dates: June 18-22, 8:30am-12:30pm Age Group: Middle School Students MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL CAMPS 3D ANIMATION & VIRTUAL WORLD Jump into the world of your own creation using a professional 3D animation program. You will model, texture and bring to life your own computer-generated creations. Option 1 - Middle School Students: June 18-22, 8:30am-12:30pm Option 2 - High School Students: June 25-29, 8:30am-12:30pm 2 P a g e

4 3D PRINTING/CAD 3D MODELING 3D printing is a game changer. Learn how 3D printing is changing manufacturing and how you can make things for yourself. Using the 3D Computer Aided Design software Autodesk Inventor, you will learn how to draw 3D models and download them to the 3D printer to generate real parts from your drawings. No experience necessary. Join us and experience the world of 3D printing. Class Fee: $150 Option 1 - Middle School Students: June 4-8, 8:30am-12:30pm Option 2 - High School Students: June 11-15, 8:30am-12:30pm AUTO MECHANICS Come to WCCC this summer and get a taste of what it s like to work on automobiles. You will learn how engines work, work in shops with tools and automobiles, and apply science and math skills in real work situations. Dates: June 4-8, 8:30am-12:30pm BECOME A MASTER OF WEB FU Learn the secrets of creating your own website. You will get hands-on experience with the tools of web development, including programming in HTML and CSS. Discover how to create a website that will stand out, and learn skills that you will continue to use for years to come! Dates: July 16-20, 1:00-5:00pm 3 P a g e

5 BECOME A SPECIAL EFFECTS GURU Discover how the special effects in motion pictures and on television are created. Learn the essentials of compositing; how to add people into animated environments with greenscreen keying; how to blow up a car the legal and safe way, and much, much more! Dates: July 9-13, 1:00-5:00pm BUILD A 3D PRINTER! 3D printing changed the way inventors take their ideas from thought to reality. In this camp, you will build and tune your very own 3D Printer that is capable of printing plastic parts. No experience required. Class Fee: $360 Option 1: July 23-27, 1:00-5:00pm Option 2: July 30-August 3, 8:30am-12:30pm CAD/CAM This camp will allow the student to create a product from initial concept to fully manufactured reality. Students will gain knowledge in Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create a product and then utilizing Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinery, produce a working product. 6 COMIC BOOK CREATION This camp will cover fundamental skills and techniques required to design and complete a hand-drawn comic book. Western, Japanese and alternative styles will be explored as students learn the process of transforming a script into storyboards and a final inked product. Technical elements include framing and panel layout, shading techniques, inking with micron and dip pens, and digital lettering. Dates: June 4-8, 8:30am-12:30pm CREATIVE WRITING This camp will cover setting, character development, plot structure, creating scene from narrative and revision. Students will create and revise a short story/novel chapter to share with the class on the last day. Option 1 High School Students: July 23-27, 1:00-5:00pm Option 2 Middle School Students: July 30-August 3, 1:00-5:00pm DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION Would you like your drawings to look like the professional artwork you see on your favorite websites? From concept art to final illustration, this class will train you in everything you need to know about drawing digitally. Learn essential fine art skills while gaining experience drawing with a tablet. Come draw with us! 7 DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY FROM CLICK TO COMPUTER Explore and share your vision from behind the lens. This camp will use DSLR cameras and Adobe Photoshop to produce pictures like a pro. We will experiment with artistic and technical tricks of the trade and host an end-of-session gallery opening to highlight your favorite pieces. You will be able to take home the start of your very own professional portfolio. Dates: June 25-29, 1:00-5:00pm FINDING THE VOICE ACTOR IN YOU Have you ever wondered how you can become a voice in the next big cartoon? Would you like to add the world of animation, video games and commercials to your acting resume? Then this workshop is for you! Students will develop characters and find comedy with their voice all while creating a dynamic performance. Dates: July 16-20, 8:30am-12:30pm INTRO TO ARDUINOS Arduinos are inexpensive, easy-to-program microcomputers that have spawned thousands of new inventions. In this course, you will learn how to build and program a simple robotic car that uses an Arduino for its brain. At the end of the five-day camp, you will compete with other camp participants to see whose car can finish an obstacle course in the shortest amount of time. You get to keep the kit of parts. 8 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER PROGRAMING Learn to code computer programs to create your own animations and games. We use Scratch, developed by MIT, a fun way to learn strategies in solving problems, designing projects and communicating ideas. Walk away with the ability to create your own games and animations, only limited to your imagination. No coding experience needed, we start from ground zero! Dates: July 9-13, 8:30am-12:30pm STOP MOTION ANIMATION MAGIC Want to recreate the Nightmare Before Christmas? How about The Lego Movie with real Legos? Stop motion animation allows your creations to come to life through the magic of film and photography. We will be experimenting with Claymation, construction paper animation and action figure/lego animation to create unique videos. Dates: June 11-15, 8:30am-12:30pm THE MOVING ART OF 2D ANIMATION Now s the chance to take your drawing skills to a whole new level making them move. Discover the fun of basic 2D animation with the latest computer software and find the joy of seeing your creations come to life. Dates: July 9-13, 8:30am-12:30pm 7 P a g e

9 VIDEO GAME DESIGN LEVEL 1 Power up and find out what it takes to create a unique video game universe. Explore the basics of gameplay and game mechanics. Take on the role of interaction designer, graphic lead, software engineer or creative director. Build a game from paper prototype to playable demo. Beta test your original game and share it at an end-of-session game expo. Dates: June 11-15, 8:30am-12:30pm VIDEO GAME DESIGN LEVEL 2 In this exciting continuation of Intro to Video Game Design: Level 1 class, you will delve further into the world of game development. We will spend the first few days going over past things while developing new skills, and the last 2 days will be dedicated to a game jam where we make a game in 2 days. This class is for those who are dedicated and willing to learn about games and how they work. Dates: June 18-22, 8:30am-12:30pm VIDEO GAME DESIGN LEVEL 3 Continue building on the foundation you started with levels 1 & 2. In this class we will delve even deeper into the technical aspects of programing for video games as well as some animation and sound design. Dates: June 25-29, 8:30am-12:30pm 8 P a g e

10 VIDEO STORYTELLING Everybody is shooting digital video these days. Let s make the most of it with our video editing summer camp. We will spend a week in a digital moviemaking environment and learn the tricks of the trade. You ll write a script shoot it, and finally put your production together in a video editor. Lights, camera, action! Dates: June 4-8, 1:00-5:00pm HIGH SCHOOL CAMPS BASIC WELDING AND FABRICATION Learn the basics of welder safety; cutting and welding techniques, and how to apply them to real world projects. Students will be using welding and cutting equipment. Class Fee: $150 Dates: June 11-15, 8:30am-12:30pm Age Group: High School Students INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ESSENTIALS The IT Essentials (ITE) course introduces students to the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, mobile devices, security and networking concepts, and the responsibilities of an IT professional. Includes mobile devices, Linux, and client side virtualization, Microsoft Windows operating systems, security, networking, and troubleshooting. 11 INTRO TO INTERNET OF THINGS The Internet of Things brings together people, process, data and things to make networked connections more relevant and valuable than ever before turning information into actions that create new capabilities, richer experiences, and unprecedented opportunity for everyone. Learn the basics of the Internet of Things in a summer camp class using Cisco Academy curriculum enhanced with hands-on activities. Dates: June 18-22, 1:00-5:00pm Age Group: High School Students INTRODUCTION TO EARLY CHILDHOOD This camp is for those interested in working with young children from preschool age through second grade. We will explore childhood growth and development using a variety of hands-on activities. Dates: July 16-20, 8:30am-12:30pm Age Group: High School Students SCREENWRITING: FROM CONCEPT TO CLAPBOARD Do you want to learn how to write scripts for movies or TV shows? During this weeklong camp, you will find out how a screenplay is structured and learn best practices for writing naturally. You will discover how to create strong characters and the importance of how they interact with their world. Best of all you will learn the importance of writing from personal belief. 12 WEARABLES AND INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) Do you want to create your own fitness tracker? Do you want to make a device that lights up based on your movement? In this summer camp, you will learn how to use the latest embedded devices that are used in the Internet of Things. You will be able to create anything from a coffee pot that tells you it s ready, to a dress that lights up as you move. You get to keep the kit of parts. No prior experience needed.
