The amount of lab work is subject to change as the semester permits. After each of the units has been completed, in lecture/ ppt., assignments and lab work, the student will be accessed according to the information that was covered. For the final project, the student will

2 be required to present a topic/circuit of (TBA) to the class along with a short technical/ informal report accompanied by any schematic designs or documentation about the circuit being presented. 3 Major Course Requirements: The individual units of the course will be broken into sections that will be discussed by use of power points presentation, lecture/note and Lab experiments. Student must complete Lab assignments in groups of no more than two and submit individual results sheet for each Lab. After discussion and Lab practice, the students will be tested over the individual material covered throughout the unit. The end of class project will be used to access the overall information and topics the class has covered as well as gauge the student s topic information retention. Students must follow and practice all Safety procedures when working with any AC circuit, Lab or Design process. Students who are not practicing proper safety procedures during any AC circuit, Lab or Design will be noted as Un-Safe and will be penalized with a failing Safety-Grade for the particular AC circuit, Lab or Design. Accommodation Statement: The accommodation statement should be noted as follows: "If you have a documented disability which will make it difficult for you to carry out the work as the instructor has outlined, and/or if you need special accommodations due to a disability, please contact (956) or visit Support Services Office located in the Tech Prep Bldg. (P Bldg.) as soon as possible to make appropriate arrangements." Student Participation: It will be the students responsibility to read all assigned chapters, complete all laboratory exercises, attend all lectures (unless excused), to be in class on time. There will be an open discussion and analysis of all circuitry in which student participation is expected. Attendance: You are expected to attend all classes (Lecture & Lab). If you fall behind during the semester and are not able to catch up, it is the students responsibility to drop the course prior to the last date for withdrawal without incurring an F grade. The withdrawal process will not be initiated by the instructor. Late Assignments: The student is allowed 3 late assignments- Lab or Exercise for 90% maximum credit. Late assignments must be submitted within 1 week of due date. Assignments received past 1 week will receive a 0% credit. MAKE UP EXAMINATIONS Only students with documented excuses (hospital, doctor s note, etc.) will be considered for make-up examination. Any make-up test may be different from that administered to the class. Make-up tests will be taken on the next testing date or forfeit the grade. Make-up test will receive a ten percent (10%) reduction off the total score for that particular exam and are not eligible for any sort of extra credit. There will be a comprehensive exam at the end of the semester. The recording of a class, lecture, taking images of the classroom, members of the class, and any activities within the classroom environment is not authorized without express permission from your instructor. At no time will any recordings that have been NOT approved be given to another party, or uploaded to a third party website. Recordings within a classroom and labs are regarded as property of the college. Any unauthorized recordings violate copyright issues explained previously in the syllabus. TREATMENT of THREATS: TSTC Harlingen faculty, staff, and students are asked to report all threats, perceived or real, immediately to COLLEGE Police located in the Auxiliary Building.
