1 CMI Level 5 Management and Mentoring Management Programme for Mid-Senior Leaders KSC is pleased to introduce our highly interactive and participative Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 Certificate in Management & Mentoring, a unique programme purposely designed to develop your understanding, skills and techniques of coaching and mentoring in an organisational setting. You will be exposed to new insights, tools and approaches to develop your capability and confidence to coach others effectively in your organisation and beyond with an accredited and recognise professional coaching qualification. Qualification Purpose Our CMI Level 5 coaching qualification is designed practising coaches, middle managers and those aspiring to senior management to develop management coaching and mentoring skills, helping to identify the links between management coaching, mentoring and the achievement of business goals. Who Should Attend? This programme is aimed at practising coaches, middle to senior managers who have the opportunity to implement management coaching in the organisation. Programme Delivery The programme is delivered over four full-day highly participative workshops, three half-day action-learning sessions and three 1:1 tutorial coaching sessions with lots of opportunity to implement and reflect upon the learning in-between. Delegates will be required to attend each of the full day workshops detailed below and submit a word written assignment for each unit. It is recommended that delegates complete at least 10 hours 1:1 coaching practice during the course of their studies, under the supervision of the course facilitator. 2 Programme Element Management Skills Workshop Unit 5014 Introduction to Management and Mentoring Unit 5014 Unit 5017 Practice and Theory Description Date Timing An engaging and interactive introduction to the programme. Participants will enjoy a full day of management coaching skills practice and theory. This unit is about introducing the practice of management coaching and mentoring and the impact on Human Resources Development and performance. A half-day ALS to review 5014 assignment This unit is about the development of effective tools and techniques, relationships and interventions to facilitate coaching within the organisation. Wed 17 th January Thurs 01 st February Fri 09 th February Wed 21 st March 1 hour () Unit 5017 Unit 5016 Using and Mentoring Skills as a Manager Unit 5016 A half-day ALS to review 5017 assignment This unit is about the development of skills and the impact of learning styles as a manager engaged in mentoring and coaching as well as ensuring ethical frameworks are established. It is hugely important to us that participants can easily apply what they have learned on return to the workplace. 3 Discusssion Practical skills application Audio-visual sessions Immersive activities Group work Paired work Reflection Observed coaching practice 1:1 coaching Additional Support We will provide you with a comprehensive range of models, tools and templates for you to apply in your own management coaching and mentoring practice. Access to coaching resources, a coaching network, online resources, individual telephone support and supervision is included. Further details of this additional support is provided at appropriate points throughout the programme. You will also receive complementary access to CMI s online learning hub ManagementDirect as well as Affiliate CMI Membership for the duration of your studies. Programme Director and Course Facilitator The Programme Director and Course Facilitator is Kate Shahid. A full and active member of the UK s professional coaching body, the Association for (AC), Kate is a coaching and organisational development specialist with over fourteen years worth of experience of supporting individuals and teams across all sectors to develop leadership, effect change and positively enhance organisational cultures. She is most passionate about enabling people and organisations to achieve their true potential through coaching in line with organisational needs, empowering businesses to achieve success & growth through their people. Kate completed her professional qualifications, including an MBA and a Post Graduate Certificate in Further Education and Training, at Northumbria University s highly regarded Newcastle Business School. She is an experienced and dedicated leadership coach with over eight years experience of training and developing coaches in a variety of contexts.

4 Kate is the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at KSC and founder of the North East s OD Exchange, a non-profit making professional forum for OD practitioners.
